Quote mommyof1: Amanda I'm sorry you had to endure that. Fortunately not all of them are like that. Unfortunately men like your husband do give some military bad names. I'm glad to hear that you're alright. I'm actually suprised boot camp made him that way, usually when someone changes it's when they come back from war.

Have a blessed day and thank you for telling us you story.

ITA, I am so sorry you had to go through that, and I also agree that war is what usually changes them...but bootcamp isn't unheard of. I'm glad you are happy now.

I am married to a Marine and we have been through deployment as well and are already gearing up for another one. It's scary, but it's amazing how much more solid it can make your marriage as you go through it together. I love him with all of my heart and soul and wouldn't change it for the world. I used to think I would never want to move away from home in VA, and then I met my husband and I am so excited we get to move all over. You travel for free practically. It's nice.

Nice to meet everybody!

Ditto Sami Chelsea Brady it's a pleasure to meet you. I know what you mean my husband means everything to me. He's leaving again this summer, he's USAF. We just had a beautiful little girl six months ago after trying for six years. We feel so blessed. Unfortunately he won't be here for her first birthday. So I'll have to break out the camcorder and stock up alot of batteries gor the digital camera.

I grew up w/my dad being a M.P. for the US Marine Corps. He served for 20 years, We never moved from place to place. My mom refused too, so my dad would do his deployments over seas & come back home! I love the fact that i can say...My dad did 20yrs in the Marines! It makes me feel proud! But what also makes me feel proud is to say that my sister wears combat boots for the Air Force. She is also an M.P. (military police). She has been in since Aug 2007 & shes loving it...during tech school she got word of where she was going to b stationed at............(the best place ever haha) Hawaii. How sweet is that...But the downside of being stationed there is that b4 the end of 2008 it was said that she would b deployed. We got the news This past Monday that in June my BIG SISTER is going to Bagdad Iraq! For bout 6 months. =)
My other 1/2 is a SeaBee In the US Navy! He has been in for 2 1/2 yrs now & is loving every min. He has been deployed twice now...1st Iraq 2nd Kuwait.....He just came home from a long 6 months in Kuwait in Feb. I love the feeling & the knowing that he is here safe w/me & my daughter!
The military is WONDERFUL....I have the up most respect for every man & woman that put their life on the line for r country!! THANK U!

You have every right to be proud. I will be praying for your honey and sis going over there. My hubby is leaving again this summer, this will be his third time. Hubby has been in the USAF for twelve years now, he also will do 20 years. My husband usually is never home, if he's not deployed in the dessert he's usually traveling all over different countries. He's usually never home, he hardly gets to see our 6 month old little girl.

God Bless you and your family I too am proud of them.

Thanks Mommyof1, I am really proud of him. He left for bootcamp in Nov. 2005 and after that had to go to school for 2 years in Goose Creek, SC to become an electrician's mate. They spent some time around Italy too cause he sent me three very cool Venician masks some time ago. I don't hear from him often, you know how boys are.

God bless you and your family, my husband Jeff just celebrated 12 years in the USAF. He will do a career. We've been together for 11 years and married for 7years. We finally had our miracle baby 6 months ago. It took me 6 years to have her. My hubby will be going back this summer for his third tour, unfortunatley he won't be here for her first birthday but you roll with the punches. Thank you very much for sharing your story. I'll be here if you ever need to talk or vent.

I know how he feels to question staying in or leaving. My husband thought the same thing at his ten year. Should I get out and be hime forever or re-enlist and do a carrer for another ten and get a pention. I feel my husband made the right choice because he will earn the benefits just like everyone else. He knew it was getting uglier over there but that was a choice he made and I respect that. Your better half will make the right decision one way or another god will lead him in the right path to his future. Have a blessed day. Keep in touch.

Hey, mommie, I just had to come here and add my congrats to Jeff. He will be so surprised tonight! Enjoy his moment with him. You and Erin are big parts of it, too.

You've done a great job with this site. Look at all the lives you're touching. It gives all of you armed forces wives and family members a wonderful connection to keep you going. God bless you all, and those you love who are serving our country. We love you and are very proud of you all.

Blessings!

Thanks MaryAnn I'm very proud of him and I think he'll be suprised about the two medals. The other award he knowa about, that's why we have to there a little early because he has to stand in formation. I woke up this morning really excited about tonight, but that means I have to leave the little roastbeef waahhhhhhh LOL. I'll let you know about it on the other site.

I talked w/him on friday bout staying in & so...he thinks he is gonna re-sign...for shore duty...which means he doesnt get deployed!!! =)
He has told me sereval times that he LOVES his job, but hates being deployed! I have noticed changes in him too...like he HATES being in crowds of people, the other day we were going to the movies on a friday..(stupid us haha) & it was PACKED!! He was driving around trying to find a parking spot he started freaking out cuz i think there was too much going on around him...i told him its ok we will b fine, well find a spot! We finally did, and he told me sorry for panic-ing & that ever since he came back from......then he stopped i didnt want to force anything out of him!!! so i just said its all right!!
I know everyone has to hate deployments cuz u get taken from the ones u love to serve for the ones who hate! It has to be hard!! no doubt!!!
But yeah so hopefully he will get his shore duty if he re-signs i sure hope so!!
