I am really pleased that more of our girls are posting here, it is a nice place to be and to chat and to escape all the hype in the world. Have an interview next week and tomorrow will be giving up my credentials and securing the appointment. It is in our local hospital and I am a bit weary as to what kind of people I may encounter... Too many women in one place has always proved detrimental to my mind... I like it when we have at least one male-nurse to break up the catfighting. YUCK! I just wanted to say hello, maybe checking in later, but should I not... have a great one and know that I am proud to have you as my CYBERFRIENDS! Grüß Alle! Outland! Outland, Best of luck in the job search...must be in the water all over the world right now, everyone questioning their positions at work, I know I am. I work for a micro managing nut job, loud, obnoxious and constantly has to be the center of attention, makes for a hellish work environment. Being in cahoots with the department chair doesn't help matters either, which gives her more control. Love what I do and really can't advance much more in my pay scale so I'm somewhat in between a rock and a hard place without having to make the decision to go outside the university into private sector. Plus, I like the fact my daughter is now on full time and love being able to see her as much as I can. Such is life sometimes!! Keep us updated as to how the interviews are going. |

Thanks for the concern and best wishes. I know what you mean. So a dragon is the reason I finally slammed my fist on the table and said enough is enough. They didn't find that so good and became insulted. Well, they couldn't imagine me, being very quiet and eating this stuff up til constipation, could actually get angry. Everything escalated, I was about fed up of not sleeping... you see that in the post from then, that I was constantly online! I went to the Doc and got some drops, so that I could get rid of the nervoúsness. It worked wonders, so.. then it was really out with they und I... the mobbing got more intensive and seeing that it just flew me by, it came to a talk with the higher ups and I just had to say.. bye, bye! Well, I am a bit sad, because I really love what I do, too! I miss the old people that I took care of everyday and helped to forget that all their resources are slipping away. I really don't know if I have the craft to continue on in this field, guess I am afraid to be backed-into another situation like this and am procrastinating about getting out there. I only got this interview, because I am afraid to close off all my possibilities and remove myself from everything that I have learned and the time that I invested into this. It is difficult, but maybe my decision to keep on trying, will prove to be a good one. In any case, I have nothing to loose by trying. Thanx for your thoughts, Sending love from Germany, Outland! |

I can so relate to what you're saying. My entire career has been in the medical field except when I worked for the government so many years before when I made the decision to work in a hospital. You invest so much time and energy not to mention financial as far as campaign and charitable contributions...which, doesn't even begin to account for the money I've paid into this university for my daughter to attend, I feel like I should own or at least have a building named after us by the time she graduates!!! It's hard sometimes to leave something you feel so loyal to or love so dearly. I guess you just have to leave it up to faith or just plain gut instinct to let you know when it's time to move on. You'll be just fine in whatever direction you go and the challenges and whatever else awaits in the future will be exciting to look forward to!! |

Please don't think that I don't care or want to chat with you, it's just that my days are not my own right now. Hope everyone has a great day, and that Suz and Outland walk into the perfect job for each one of them without having to search and suffer to get there. Love you all!!! Hi Nan, thanx for the comment, as I thank Girly also! I don't know if you have that over there, but our health insurance allows for a nurse to come in up to 4x a day to help out with the care of our elderly relatives. Don't you have any help at all? That is not easy, then the elderly are very depressive and that drains one of all craft. I work with seniors and know how demanding that can be. Dakota! What, you aren't well? Don't make me weak, hope that this thing blows over real quick. The last thing we need is to be ailing physically. Phooey. I am a bit disappointed, I posted a thread on the msg-brd and no one commented on it, at least 28 people have read it though... a bit impolite... but, i said what i felt I had to and I guess that is life. I am loving the soap at the time, it is a great outlet for me to talk about it with all of the folks on the board, Lord knows, I don't need to have too much time on the hand to get down and out of it. outland, girly 51 and nanaof8: I just read your messages from today. I feel bad for all about the job issues. I have had my share of pain in the a$$ jobs and back stabbers to last a lifetime. I hate being micromanaged. I love autonomy even though I am a very social person. I don't want anyone to tell me how to do my job. GOD gave me a brain and thankfully a high IQ, so I can't deal w/stupidity very well. |

I tried putting my mom in assisted living (too expensive), and she stayed in rehab at the nursing home for 90 days, but in that time she lost 15 pounds and became VERY depressed. My mom is very alert and very sociable for her age, and I just could not bring myself to leave her there any longer. I brought her back to her little house which is next door to me, and my son and his wife moved in with her, but he works at the railroad, and his wife has severe migraine headaches, so I am still the primary caretaker--to both. lol I am looking into the people that do come to the house, but have been told by other people that they will not come if the patient is not terminal. I am still going to give it a try, can't hurt. I am really praying for you and Suz and your job situation. I know something good will come out of this. Both of you are wonderful, outgoing people, and I think any business would be blessed and fortunate to have both of you. Just don't get so busy you can't post occaisionally. Love ya |

I really believe people are feeling unappreciated and overworked in today's workforce. I haven't worked in 3 years due to my jaw problem and even though it is difficult for my husband and me, I just don't miss it. I miss making money though. I worked since I was a teenager so not having my own income sometimes bothers me. I will catch up w/everyone later. Have a good night!!  He, Dakota, Great to hear from you today. I know what you mean about the money situation. I had to quit a great paying job because of my osteoarthritis and congenital disc disease. I can only sit or stand for a little while at a time, so wherever I am I look like a jumping jack and everybody thinks I am bored with them and I have to keep explaining my situation. It really looks funny, but the pain can become very real. I can imagine yours is too. I guess the Lord knew what he was doing when He gave me this disease, because if I were still working I couldn't give my mom the care that I do now. That's what I told Suz today. Don't fight the situation--a little good comes out of every situation if you keep the faith. |

Outland! We are getting some great new posters on all the boards. This is making the s/l take all kinds of new slants, and is great to read all the differnt ideas. I am loving this. Outland, my prayers are with your husband and daughter in their travels, but I intensely pray for you while you are at home and wondering how they are. That, to me, is the most stressful part--to be waiting and anticipating the outcome--of anything. I have really been thinking about all the job issues that everyone is going through. I know in my heart that this will work for the good for all of you. My computor didn't do it's thing last night, so I had to wait for it to finish this morning, and Have just gotten on. I made Gulash for them, it is like stew with a tomato-soup base, they ate and now are snuggled in for a nap. Really sweet! I am so thankful that God brought them home safe and sound. It was horrid, waiting and wondering. Now everything will be fine. It is really howling outside, sometimes we get a bolt of wind that I think the windows will blow in. The weather is often cold, wet and windy here, but today is extreme. I pray for all those who are underways and for their families who are anxiously waiting for them. My hearts go out to them, because it is really gusty and wet. Living between the North and the Baltic Seas, we are used to this kind of weather--- I should be anyway, it is just nasty. I appreciate every nice day, because they come very seldom. So, it is almost time for the Updates! Hope the cliff-hanger is going to be bearable... Good Evening nanaof8, outland and whoever I may have missed: I haven't been on line today until now. I am having computer problems and I still am under the weather. I hope it isn't a sinus infection but I woke up w/ my face all swollen on the left side and another doozy of a headache. Spending time on the computer to chat w/you guys is fun for me but I think I am getting alot of eye strain. I hope you all have a great weekend. |
