Quote Dakota 4762: Quote tufenuf: Quote Dakota 4762: Linda: I hope that this was caught early enough and that I don't suffer long term neurological damage. I have to be on the Doxycycline for 21 days. I have burning in my neck and back at times and thought it was from another medicine I started (Lamictal) back in mid July. Do you understand the IGG vrs the IGM? The Lyme titer (Elisa test) came back positive at 1.59. If it is positive,it is accurate but if it is negative, it could be a false reading. If the bite was too soon, it wouldn't show up there. Supposedly, the Western Blot came back negative. My brain is tired from all these stupid pills. I can't even type clearly tonight. I am having trouble concentrating and spelling. dakota, i remember a positive igg is more indicative if long term stage of lyme disease. headaches and so called brain fog; not being able to think clearly are both symptoms of lyme disease. get more testing from a neurologist if you feel worse or have any questions. don't wait....please linda linda These doctors are starting to p i s s me off!! It was my psychiatrist that prescibed the antibiotic and my primary is saying I don't have lyme disease. Who do I believe? My primary doctor doesn't know that I have two different one day bouts with a fever and chills. It was around 101.3 but then I felt fine. I don't feel sick at all...except from these damn antibiotics. I really am feeling very depressed because I hope I am not treating something that I don't have but still perplexed that the titer was positive. How come none of them agree with each other. Everyone I know with chronic lyme disease will tell me that they would always rule on the side of caution..just to put my mind at ease. I can't stop thinking about who is right and who is wrong and the only support my husband is giving me is ..take the drug so that you don't worry about it in the back of your mind. It is such a gray area and I only like to deal with what is black and white. dakota, what test did your primary do to obtain his diagnosis? if his diagnosis is based on sound testing that is good but if you have any deep concerns find yourself a neurologist. linda |

Quote Dakota 4762: Thanks Rynomom...Suchi...Bogey...Luvda...and Pippo for thinking of me. I must be depressing everyone on this board with my problems. I just want to clarify...I am not feeling sick, so it is hard to believe that I COULD be sick. If I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was sick, I wouldn't even be questioning taking an antibiotic but if I am taking it and am not REALLY sick, then if I need them to work in the future, they might not be so effective. As far as husbands who give the silent treatment..Pippo,my husband has mastered that one!! Dakota- You are my friend, you don't depress me, but I am concerned about you and hope that you are feeling tip-top Shape. I think it is safe to say that all of us fall a part one time or another......I somehow screwed up my rotor cuff and start physical therapy next week....I can't moan to my hubby because he is "dying" of the intestinal flu, it won't go away (like it would when you eat junk like fried food and corn - Duh!) Now, you want depressing, he's like the Rock Hudson Character in send me no flowers. He came home with 3 or 4 different kinds of diarrhea medicines.....Deliver Me lord! |

Quote tufenuf: suchi good morning and happy saturday to all the lovely ladies of b/b.........rock on linda Hey Tuf, the doctor's visit was superfine. Infact I posted a message also on the board after I came from the doc's place, but I guess it was the hurricane time and you were not logging in frequently. Doc said the radiologist is known to be a hyper guy and since he failed to catch the old lump in the previous ultrasound, which is actually a mistake on his part, he thought it was new and since he did not anything to compare it with he was suggesting to do a biopsy since it could be cancerous. She also added that she has seen all the previous reports, test results like 2 mammographs, plenty of ultrasound reports for the past 6 years and they all show it is same in size and no change in shape. So just ignore the old lump. New lump looks fine and we will do an ultrasound again after 6 months. |

They are both interpreting the results differently. In my first post to you I mentioned that: The lyme titer was positive The Western Blot was negative I have and IGG with 2 bands...the 23/41 whatever that means? I have one band on the IGM Does this help you at all? |

As far as your rotator cuff...I went throught he same thing. I had to get an injection In early April because the pain was off the charts. They gave me a steroid with methocaine. It felt like I had the flu in my arm for two weeks after that shot. The injection hurts less then the spray they use to numb the arm. When you get to the point where you can't turn over in bed without jabbing pain waking you up...I highly reccomend the shot. I was scard of it but I am glad that I gave it a try. |

Quote caribean: Hey Dakota~~~ Hey , if you have a bite from a deer tick that causes lyme disease, it's the tick with a white dot on it's back,, well the bite will create a bulls eye shape on your skin, several rings of reddness and one red spot in the middle. Hope this helps. How is mom doing, I hope well with all expected, I hope and pray that all is well with her and that she keeps fighting ,and you take care of your self on the same token, all them pill taking scare me. Please becareful. Wishing lots of love for your family and your Dakota. love always, cari/Daphne la chica loca Trust me when I tell you this. Had I had a bulleye rash or seen a tick biting me...this would be a mute point. I NEVER had/saw either. In my discussion with tuf (Linda) I was explaining that it is based on an assumption of how different doctors interpret bloodwork. My bloodwork originally showed elevated liver enzymes that was most likey caused from a high fever that I had two days before the bloodwork was sampled. I went for bloodwork again a week later and my liver enzymes came down. My psychiatrist was concerned that I was allergic to a new medicine that I went on so he took me off it for two days. He said it wasn't the medicine so he ran a battey of tests..hepatitis, epstein barr, lyme... This is how this whole thing came about. I do NOT feel sick (other then from these antibiotics)!! I am taking them because I am not sure if I will get sick down the road. I know this sounds crazy but when you live in the highest area of NYS that contracts lyme disease in this country...this is nothing to play around with. My mother and a couple of friends of mine would have given anything to have taken antibiotics sooner. Now they all have neurological damage from the severity of the path that this bacterial infection travels. Lyme is the great imposter. You can have so many physical things go wrong with you in the days, months or even years ahead, that can be traced back to a single tick bite that you never knew that you had...simply because you never had severe symptoms of being sick in the beginning. This is a very tricky science and none of these bloodtests are without faults. Plus, Not everyone experiences the same symptoms. Some have a stiff neck. Some have knee pain and never had a fever. This is what gets me down. I have such an analytical mind that I want answers and I can't seem to let this go. |
