Quote tufenuf:  hey gang,well, we are alive and kicking in florida. however, we are not kicking very high. it is 7:50P at nite and that storm started in the early hours this morning. it has rained so hard all day and winds gusting continuouly about 30+ with occasional feeder band with gust apx 60. two transformers blew on my street, but the electric company had electricity restored in apx 3 hous. i will never complain about that. those people who get out in this type of weather and work with electricity are amazing to me. my daughter and two grandsons stayed with us during last night and all day today. 7 and 5 years have alot of energy for us ole farts  read today recaps and all the comments. by the way, the comments were way more interesting than the recap. thanks for prayers...and continue praying...because they are saying this storm may just go out into the atlantic and turn back into florida linda Yay Tuffie- I'm so glad you are all right!

On top of that it's hot outside and inside, I think my A.C. is trying to go AWOL, not so good when I had 12 women in my house playing BUNKO and the oven running! At first I thought it was a hot flash, and said, wow, I've never had one this bad......Hubby is in denial, he says there is no problem, yeah right, I look like I've been playing in the rain and I haven't been outside. But he did promise me he would see about getting the thing looked at tomorrow. He mumbled something about life being too short to live with a hot, mad woman............Hmmmmmmmmmmm  Maybe I came on too strong about the heat? Had fun posting this evening! Now I know how much fun it is, I'll have to play hookie more often....  read your post regarding the heat as in connection with your reaction. my friend...accept it. what your husband is saying is true. you see, us women in the southern areas of the country are painfully blunt when it comes to expressing our discomforts, discontents and dislikes. you will not find any flowerly, nice, kind or gentle words in the message we are expressing. i heard an elderly southern woman explain it as this: it's the heat and humidity. we have grown up with it and it is the barometer of when we explode. when the weather, conditions or a person gets us to the point that we fill hot and uncomtfortable; well all our niceness goes flying out the window and we become directly to the point of our discomfort and tell whoever is in hearing range just how we feel and how we want it resolved....now  only thing we can promise is that no one is going to be happy until we are happy again my husband is conditioned to this and it sounds like your husband is also. i didn't really realize how bad us southern ladies can be until a friend from rhode island who moved to florida toward me that i was "direct" in my comments....go figure linda p.s. the storm has moved out. only light rain. still no sunshine. hello..this is the sunshine state..we go to have sunshine

Out AC is repaired We have a little sunshine here, but it has rained off and on, I think that Gypsymamma is sending her rain our way, but we'll take all the rain here so ya'll won't have to get anymore. I know you're glad Fay is gone! I hate hurricanes, but there really is no place that you can go without Mother Nature unleashing her ire on you! Ta Ta for now my Bold Beauties! |

My man couldn't handle the heat so I through him out of the kitchen,out of the nieghborhood and out of the state , been divorce and single and left to take the heat myself  , thank god my childeren can bear my behavior and also my friends, bless their hearts. Tuf -- glad to hear that your in the clear of the storm

The bad thing is a lot of those boogers will get jobs that pay cash so that they will not have any record of income, like you can't figure out why an unemployed guy dressed GQ with a new Caddie, yeah right... I had a friend that had 2 children and the Daddy didn't pay. She didn't push it because State Law says No Pay, No Visit. Her kids turned out better than if he had been around because they learned to work for what you get and be proud of it. ryno, in florida visitation and child support are not tied together. meaning a dead beat dad is still entitled to his full visitation privileges. can any one make any sense out of that law for me  we've helped our daughter get restricted supervised visitation for now. if i think about all of these for too long.....well....lets just say i would like to make some lemon bars for my daughters ex and serve them with gin linda |
