Quote daisy671: Quote Dakota 4762: mamaluv: Glad you made it here!! daisy 671: That was a great story. Everyone likes to feel appreciated. I shop at BJ's wholesale club too. I usually go w/ my mom and it adds up quick when you buy in bulk. Did you adopt a child? It was funny about the numbers thing. The 4762 is actually harder to explain for it to sense. My dad was a very numerical person and I take after him. Cody is my paternal nephew. (Make sense?) His dad is my baby brother. They married very young, problems, she left, both got into drugs and alcohol and I stayed involved from the day that little boy was born. I do not regret a moment or any decision and I try hard not to 2nd guess my parenting skills but I seriously got a crash course! LOL! Lisa Wow Lisa, that is a fascinating story, I am amazed! I have heard of such situations, but have never really met anyone who has taken on the raising of a child in the family from small on and now to manhood. I find that commendable and am so proud of you. I am truly proud. Thank God that there are people who see the world further than their own noses, nice to have read that... makes me feel real warm inside! Grüß, Denise |

Cindy - that is great they didn't charge her! Yup, betcha $60 was for labor. I hate it when they do that. If your lucky enough to get someone, they will have a kind heart and help you. Last weekend I paid my coworker, whose money is tight, to put new brakes and a rotor on my van. It would have cost me $300 in the garage. It cost me less than $100 for him to do it and I bought him a new pair of shoes he really wanted. He was so happy and so was I. I'm driving safely again and he's walking in nice comfy shoes. Not that the guys at the shop don't deserve it, but sometimes they gouge prices for women and I'd rather pay someone who really needs it than be screwed over by someone who thinks I'm a dumb chick. |

daisy 671: Wow. That is great that Cody has found stability w/you. I used to work w/kids in an after school program and the parents of some of the kids were neglectful of them. there were times a couple of the kids didn't get picked up by an adult relative or parent and would be soon hungry that I felt sorry for them and would end up cooking them dinner at my parents house. I was single then and in my early 20's. My parents weren't to happy about it. there is liability issues to contend w/if GOD forbid something should happen. When one kid got to swim in my parents pool, then all the kids started hounding me that they wanted to go over my parents house. Oh boy. Kids just spill all the beans. I had a girl in my group who was 11 tell a boy to go to the vending machine for her because "she likes a big strong man to bring her oreos." These kids are minature adults. I have many stories to tell. One girl in the group made her own fishing pole. She caught the biggest fish and told the boys "Up yours buster" and gave him the finger. I told her don't give him the finger. I asked her if she knew what it mean't but she didn't but said her 24 year old sister does it. |

Quote Greema2four: I hope I am not intruding but I read about the lounge and how to get here. You are a very special group of ladies and I love reading your comments. I throw my misguided opinion in there once in a while. I just had to comment though after reading Daisy's story. My hat is off to you - what a wonderful gift you have given your son. I don't know too many people who would take on that challenge and succeed as you have. I am truly touched by your story and wish you all the best down life's path. WELCOME Greema2four!!! Glad you located the lounge okay. We have been chatting up a storm here today!! |

Hope things works out with the costs. Sometimes living in a small town has its benefits by being able to do credit on par of the cost.amount, after 3 miles...it's over 40mis.) thank goodness the is in a secured location and we won't be charged. so i don't get stressed out i'm letting my husband handle it. Some days I hate to post because I don't want to come across as a "know it all" but believe me when I say, I have SEEN it all! It's from experience and I share some of my experiences to help others and never mean to come across as a know it all. We all have them and we all can contribute and reach out to others. |

That is exactly what I had in September. 2 Keys and a drve-away block = $500!!! I sure know how you feel, Lady... then two weeks after they fixed that, they realize that it was the cental locking system...$300!!! I hope you come out of this with max 1/10 of that.. These cars are makimg me sick, why is everything supposedly better with the new technology? The old cars held alot longer, if you asked me! Grüß, Denise |

The part alone was $250. Lisa Hello...I can come across as a know it all sometimes too so we should get along just fine. I guess it comes from a variety of jobs in the human services field, school, and just interesting life experiences on top of that. I ususally get my spouse to call for mechanical problems b/c I feel that as a woman I'm not taken seriously and they also have tried to charge me more or get some extra things done that really don't need to be done. |

Don't anyone feel like the lone ranger. I feel at times I come across as a know it all. I blame mine on age and the school of hard knocks. |
