Well, Susie, since you were the only one to answer, I guess you can win the first part of the question. But, you weren't right on the BONUS question. Frank didn't write the lyrics. Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn wrote it. Frank did record it some time later but the group who sang it in the movie and on the original cast recording and had a #1 hit AND won the Oscar for Best Song from a Motion Picture that year (1954) was THE FOUR ACES. So, you win the trip to Rome but you missed out on the Mazzarati. Sorry about that. Thanks for playing. OH WELL! That's what I get for cheating!! hehehe |

The Italian theme was NY's idea since it is Columbus Day weekend. It was a last minute idea for GNO and it worked out well. The Italian movie trivia was fun. No, I'm not Italian. Just love movies and music and, so far, have been able to remember them over the years. How did you do with your bowling last weekend? I used to bowl in a league many moons ago.  Probably would throw myself down the lane with the ball now. hee hee Hope you have a pleasant long weekend. Columbus Day is really tomorrow but they celebrate it on Monday. MA, glad you enjoyed all the Italian "goodies", me too! I especially enjoyed Antonio's meatballs....  Well, we just got back from apple picking and looks like everyone else in NY had the same idea! It was crowded!!!! It was too close to us, we should have driven out further north. No ladders, we used those long poles-they're annoying. We had all the kids and no men, so it was hard work lugging everything. But, we got to purchase some great donuts and cakes too. It was an absolutely beautiful day in NY. Just gorgeous to be out. Ok, gotta go get myself all perty for tonight-meeting w/old high school classmates. I'm so pooped! I won't be around tomorrow, will be at my Moms all day for my Dads 3rd anniversary in heaven. have a great weekend everyone!! ciao! NY...Your day out sounded like fun. What are you doing with all the apples? Do you bake things or make apple sauce with them or just eat them? That reminds me of that song from the Walt Disney Show about Johnny Appleseed. It was a catchy little tune. I used to know the words by heart. Let me think on it a while and maybe they'll all come back to me. Hey!! hang on Im going too!!. I still have no car. I have to bum rides. george cant even take me.(next door neibor) one of his eyes closed & wont open. I told him thats what he gets for trying to talk me in to doing it.I said its a da@@ b@t@h. now we are both stuck home(different houses!). last monday I go to help this womanon her house(I do it once a week ) for 20.00. and I get out of the house.she has fleas. it about killed me.I spent 4 to 5 hours vacumning up salt.I was to tired to go shopping..I hate to say , but when hell frezzses over ,Im dead scattered on the beach. I will still be shopping.I only have 3 or 4 rugs. |

Hey NY ~~~~ I'm so glad you had a good apple picking venture! Hugs to all your family tomorrow in rememberance of your Dad! My Dad died Dec. 21, 1982. We had his funeral on Christmas Eve! Needless to say, Christmas Eve has never been the same w/ our family since! |
