Hey ladies. I finally got a chance to post. It has been a crazy day. It is Canada Day so lots going on. My neighbors put on a fireworks display last night(Monday) because their kid goes to daycare early Wednesday morning, so we celebrated a little early. Damien didn't get to sleep until after 11 and slept til 10 this morning. So to celebrate the day we took the kids swimming and playing at the Y. They had a blast then when we brought them home we set up the sprinklers and let them get soaked again. We didn't come in until supper time. Trying to get Damien into the tub without him falling asleep was a chore. So now, he is asleep and I finally get a few minutes to myself and thought I would just wish you all a goodnight. Hope everyone had a wonderful day. Thursday sounds good for me if I don't get stuck outside with Damien all evening.

Hey GHFan ~~~~~ Girl .....You are welcome at my house anytime you get this way!!! And, if you don't mind good ol' Southern cooking, you're welcome for dinner any time! I'm TN...born and bred. Wayne is GA...born and bred. There's no getting out of biscuits and gravy for breakfast w/ all the trimmings of grits, eggs, bacon/sausage/country ham. Wayne loves any kind of meat w/ potatoes for dinner. His favorite is Southern Fried Chicken w/ Potatoe Salad. We were both raised on Pinto Beans and Cornbread. I could easily be a 'vegetarian'. I love ALL the vegi' group. I don't really have a favorite. Wayne is more choosey when it comes to vegi's. He has to be in the mood for broccli, squash, greens, cauliflower, corn, peas,carrots, etc. So, I end up fixing more vegi's for me and meat and potatoes for him!! Our kitchen could easily be turned into a 'Cracker Barrell!' I don't know if they have them out your way, but they consist of mostly Southern Cooking! Have you ever eaten fried okra?? I could eat my weight in it!! hehehe Every time I go home to see my Mom, she makes a special effort to always have me some fried okra on the menu. We used to grow it when I was a kid. I hated picking it almost as bad as picking tobacco. But, I loved to eat it. I always wanted it fried. My Granny stewed it w/ onions and tomatoes. But, it gets real slimmy when it's stewed. YUK!!! Pickled okra is pretty good. But then, lots of vegi's are good pickled!! hehehe I'm rambling. Too much wine after dinner! hehehe I haven't been sleeping to good the past couple of days, and thought maybe the wine would help! I've been trying to keep away from the 'sleeping pills' route! This conversation would be so much more fun if we were talking in person!! hehehe

Roe ~~~~~ I hope you had a fantastic vacation in SC. I love Hilton Head. I'm sure it's changed a lot since the last time I was there. Charleston, SC is nice also. My brother was stationed there for 4 years in the Navy, and I was over there 2 or 3 times a year. Lot's of hystorical sites! Myrtle Beach, SC? The last time I was there was right after Hurricane Hugo hit! So, I have no idea what it's like today. My sister did a 'time share' on a condo there, but it turned out to be a 'dumb deal', so she sold it a few years back. She now has a 'time share' in Panama City, FL. It's too soon to see if it's another 'dumb deal' or not!!! I thought she would've learned her lesson from the one in Myrtle Beach!!! She lost money on it! People just don't respect other people's property! By the time she paid for an 'overseerer' to keep it booked, repairs from over rowdy renters, and replacing the 'basic' material things in the Condo renters stole.....she was barely able to pay the mortgage each month!!!! Now....she's going through it again!! Each time she emails or calls w/ complaints....I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying....'I TOLD YA SO!' She is my sister and I love her dearly....but sometimes she can be as dumb as a box of rocks!! More money than brains!!! Each time I want to say.....'Please, send me the $950.00 a month you're sending to FL for a condo you never have time to use or even go see!!' It will NEVER be paid off. She doesn't plan on retiring down there, so WHAT the heck was she thinking???? I understand investing money for retirement! I KNOW 'Social Security' probably won't exist for most of us. OH MY! I'm rambling AGAIN!!! Sorry Girls! It's the wine!! I can talk your ear off when I'm 'buzzing!' hehehe

hey ya susie q! i am sure you are busy getting wayne up for work or such. i can smell them biscuits now. gary loves them but i don't make them that much, just special occasions. you too are over run with blackberries! i have never seen this much this year. our cup surily runnith over. i have made jelly, i like it better. of corcourse i have plenty frozen for ceral and muffins and pancakes. they are still so plentyful. i will try to email you a recipe for my muffins. they are made with lemon scrapes and sourcream. so light and yummy. check your email later.

i am off to town to get supplies and i hope to be back on later this afternoon. tomorrow early we leave for my home place, pigeon creek alabama. i can't hardly wait to see my sister, and mom dad and terry (Older brother). mom and dad and terry are gonna drive up from pensacola cause they know i won't be able to go to p'cola now. my body has rested this past few days, nothing is gonna help my left butt check so away we will go. gary had normal b/p yesterday and this am. see ya later and make today a good day by smiling all day. works great!!

Yay get to leave tomorrow for Wildwood for a little R&R. I'll be back Saturday night. Erin's first time at the shore, I got the bikini all packed and ready to go hehe.

If I don't talk to anyone before hand have a blessed and safe 4th of July.

To all our servicemen and women thank you for your unconditional service and I'm blessed to be married to one also.

Good morning, everyone. OMG, is that sun bright! I've been up since 3AM. We left for the airport at 4:15 and there wasn't much traffic at that hour, thank goodness. It was an easy drive, except for dense fog in various areas.
David drove to the A/P because he likes to travel the highways. I drove home by the back roads and made just as good time. His plane left at 7AM. He'll be back in Tucson, AZ at 12:38, their time.

I'm going to take a nap as soon as I post this. As Rock would say, "My butt's dragging so low, it's wiping out my footprints." hahaha

I can't make GNO on Thursday night this week (any other week is usually great) but we have to take the race car over to a friends shop and get it set up for Friday's race at our local track.

Maryann - your present should be in the mail by tomorrow morning. You know me ... late as usual. Also, you said David lives in Tucson? Our AZ club races there quite often but we haven't been there yet due to the distance (7-8 hours from CA) but we may try and make a race there next year. When I get the schedule for next year, I'll let you know when we're there and you can set up your payback visit to David and kill 2 birds with one stone!

Hi ladies, finally, I am able to come and post. I have been going nuts trying to get online with all of you. Since it seems that not many people will be around for this Thursday, we will have GNO next Friday and hopefully everyone can make it. Besides, I think next Friday on GH, it's going to be a good cliffhanger. Speaking of GH, to my east coast friends, are you getting the previews after the show about what happens the next day? I haven't gotten them in 3 days now and I have no idea what is going to happen tomorrow which is weird. Anyway, mommyof1, have a great time and get plenty of R&R if you can, haven't been to Wildwood since I was a teenager and that was many moons ago. My friend has a condo there. Tell your husband from all of us at GH pals, we didn't forget all the men and women out there that let us celelbrate the 4th of July. Everyone, remember those flags, my dad has about 5 little ones on his porch and one big one in the middle. Raggies,have a great time, want to see pictures if you can. Today was a quiet day, took the kids for haircuts and fell asleep myself for about an hour, tired of running aroudn all week. Nice to relax for a change.

Everybody else seems to be staying busy. I too was raised on cornbread, brown beans, fried chicken, and homegrown, corn on the cob or creamed corn-- with new potatoes and beans--yum yum--
My parents are two old to do all that now and I can't do it, I can't even get my flowers I set out to grow.
Did you ever have fried cornbread? It is the best with green onions that is salted and covered in beacon grease. My southern roots are showing.
But I still don't like alot of southern cooking that you mentioned Susie. I guess it's because we didn't have much, and I was told to eat it or do without cause that was all we had. I did without, and stayed skinny, not by choice.
I hope everyone are staying safe from the fires. All ya californians take care of yourself.

Hey Girls ~~~~~ Just checking in for a few! Me, Sammy and 2 of my munchkins across the street, Gunner and Angus, spent a few hours this afternoon putting up new flags and ribbons for the 4th. Our house is painted a nice blue w/ white trim. Our porch and deck is 'redwood' stained. The flower beds are all defined w/ red brick pavers. So, it's not hard to be 'red,white,and blue' at our house! hehehe My heart goes out to ALL our military Gals and Guys this 4th. I love our country, and sooooooooooo appreciate all our sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, and family members that are making the supreme sacrafices to ensure our 'freedom!' I DON'T agree w/ the War we're fighting in Iraq! Just my personal opinion! I can't see that we've accomplished ANYTHING in being over there! Sudam was a BAD leader. His followers were to weak to overthrow him. We did that for them! WHY are we still sending Billions of dollars and loosing our military forces to a Nation that doesn't want us over there????? With our economy going to he!!, with our people in such dire need of those billions of dollars sent to a Nation that doesn't appreciate it, with our children mourning the deaths of their Mom's and Dad's......WHAT are we doing?????? WHY are we going bankrupt as a Nation, to try and build up a Nation that doesn't want us over there???? SORRY! This subject really gets my goat!! I normally keep my opinions to myself! But, w/ the 4th coming up and all it stands for made me pause to reflect! I need to go blow off some steam!! hehehe I'll be back in a few. Love Ya's, Susie
