Hey Girls ~~~ It's 5:30 PM here, and I just started my own 'Happy Hour!' hehehe I got my errands done about an hour ago. By the time I carried in the groceries and put them up, I was totally out of the mood for cooking! hehehe Wayne was conveniently taking a nap in the recliner when I got home, so he got out of helping carry in groceries!!! Even though I tried to make as much noise as possible w/ my numerous trips up and down the stairs! I'm rewarding myself for a job well done w/ a few drinks! I'll be back in a few. I love Ya's, Susie

Big Brown took it without even breathing hard. What a beautiful horse!! Kent Desormeaux was so proud and happy, he'll never get the grin off his face. He's such a great jockey. I have a feeling that there's going to be a Triple Crown winner this time. The Belmont Stakes are in 3 weeks. If he wins that, he'll be the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years.

THE JOURNEY

There came a time, not long ago,

When I was unsure of where to go,

So, I closed the door, and opened my mind,

Knowing I had to be willing to accept what ever I may find.

I found my fears, my pain, my hate,

Then I came upon a gate.

I peered through the bars, straining to see,

What could be down this path for me?

I opened the gate, filled with fear and doubt,

Not knowing entirely what may lay ahead, the things I could find out.

I walked the path, one step at a time,

Seeing things I knew were mine.

I found some things I had sought so long,

Some were all I thought, others were I found out, wrong.

I found some things that were better off lost,

Some so cold, all covered in frost.

I picked some things up, and put many away,

There were things also, I left where they lay.

I traveled the path, came back upon the gate,

My journey had been long, it was now getting late.

Once more, over my shoulder, down the path I peered,

Unsure of my future, unknown brings fear.

I lifted the latch, gate opened, stepped out,

Lifted from my shoulders were fear and doubt.

I knew of all things I had to accept,

Could only be found with self respect,

My past is gone, there is no turning around,

You have to keep walking, pick yourself up off the ground.

Always go forward, and should you come upon a gate,

Open it, walk your own path, do not hesitate.

Hesitation can turn in to fear,

Can make you miss the things that are near.

We have many paths, down we each must go,

Never knowing where it may end up, or where it could go.

I will stand on faith, and try to fight fate,

I hope I go forward, keep walking this path, and not hesitate.

We have our time here, from beginning to end,

Thank you for walking this path with me, my friend.

Rock, this is beautiful! And, you're right. Writing can be a wonderful way to search, sort out and arrive at answers in your life. At the same time, your words may be opening the doors to the rhyme and reason in others' lives. Write on, girl, write on.

Hi to everyone. It was a busy day today. We didn't get to the fair today but are going to try for Monday. It was so windy that we figured the rides would be kind of scary blowing around. So i didn't need to worry about sunblock. I opened my door around 10 this morning and Damien took off so quick you would think that I hadn't let him out in days. LOL. I didn't get him in until lunch then he took off out the door right after and I didn't get him back in until his dad showed up at 3. I love my son but he doesn't understand the idea that I need to spend sometime indoors to get chores done. I was doing laundry at 12:30 last night. Oh well, at least he is having fun.
Hope you all had a safe and happy day. Think I will go and see if I can find something on tv to watch. Have sweet dreams everyone and I will check in tomorrow. Hugs from our home to yours.
