OMG, what a horrible tragedy at Fort Hood, TX this afternoon!
Let's all pray for the fallen and wounded and for the families trying to contact their soldiers to see if they're alright. They're telling everyone to text message only because they need to keep the phone lines open to try to account for all personnel. I won't go into detail here because it is still unfolding as I write and all of the major news channels are covering it. This is indeed a sad day for America.

ny i am holding in there i just got a sewing machine i am going to give quilting a try. something to keep my mind busy when i am home. mitch has been driving with his father. he is teaching mitch on his mustang that has a stick all i can say i am glad iam not the one teaching him . i was the one who would take my older son out to practice but he is lot easier then mitch.did the kids have fun on holloween? no one really came out in my neighborhood the rain was really heavy. so we ate the candy, just what i needed. alfie glad you are ok alfie was really worried about you.

Good morning, my PALS! Just want to say that I LOVE you and cherish your friendships. With all the terrible things going on around us, we need to tell those we care about that we DO care. Don't miss a moment to give them that hug, that compliment, that declaration of love and commitment. The saying, "He who hesitates is lost" has never been truer.

Yesterday, my sister emailed me that her former boss had gone home from work Friday and found her husband dead. It was totally unexpected and a terrible shock. My sis said that 'life is so short and can change on a dime'. I was responding to her email when a message came up that I had an email from Auntiep. She was saying, 'Did you see what just happened at Fort Hood, TX?' I added a footnote to my sis's email and told her that something was going on and I'd update her shortly. When I turned on the TV, ALL the major news channels were covering the mass shootings at Fort Hood. It was so weird that, just as my sis and I were talking about 'life changing on a dime', life was indeed being changed forever for all of the victims, their families and, yes, even the shooter. At first they told us that he (the shooter) was dead and we breathed a sigh of relief that the danger was over. But, as we were to find out last night, he is still alive, in stable condition, but on a ventilator. I'm sure they're hoping he'll survive so they can learn his motives and bring him to justice. Unfortunately, it won't undo the terrible losses and damage he has caused by his actions. Those are irreversible.

OK, enough of that. Just wanted to check in with you all this morning before my landlord's daughter arrives. It was snowing last night in up-state NY where she lives, so she decided to wait until this morning to drive down. She's due to arrive around 10AM. I probably won't get a chance to post until sometime later in the weekend. My sis-in-law is having a birthday and my bro is trying to arrange a get-together down at their house on Sunday. Looks like I'm going to have one of those 'whirlwind weekends' that the rest of you are always talking about. So, you all have a good one and I'll catch up with you as soon as I can.

Hey Gval, I never could drive a stick swift and neither could my mom. Sarah ran out of milk one day. Mom and me and Sarah got in Dad's old stick sift truck and went to the store. Mom kept it in low, Its the only gear she felt safe to drive it in. We just bearly creeped up the hills but we made it to the store and back.

Autumn is now incharge of paying the phone bill. cause I had to add them to my cell phone plan.this morning she said next month that she would have to use her debit card to pay on the cellphone bill. I said thats fine.since I pay 35.00 on her internet. I said thats great cause then I would just get on there and pay 20.00. and that would be all that I owed.she thought oh!! sh@t!!.how do I get out of that one.I laughed at her. cause I thought the same thing. about puting them on my phone service. but she is my kid, & grand kids.if you want to talk to them.you cant very well say no.esspeccially if you need something later.

alfie you shouldnt post your phone # you dont know who reads these posts. i am hoping my son left my lap top home. his pc crashed he has never fixed it and he is using mine. the other day i saw his friend on it i was not happy. for a week it turned into months and i come to find out he takes the pc out of the house. i gave him one more week to fix his computer and then i want mine back.
