Good morning, PALS! The sun's shining here in Bristol, CT., but they're saying we might see some SNOW SHOWERS today and tonight. No accumulation, though. It's cooler...temp won't get out of the 40s today and it's going WAY down tonight. The weatherman warned everyone to bring in whatever is left in their gardens so they won't freeze.

Welcome, ShoulderPadsQ. I just got back from a mini-vacation and saw your posts. I love shoulder pads. I'm short and chubby and they always gave me squared off shoulders so the rest of me looked slimmer. hee hee

Gval, NY emailed me. She's ok. She was busy getting her youngest son's birthday party ready for last Friday and then Halloween on Saturday and another party on Sunday.

Roe said her laptop was down for a few days and her other computer was working slowly and kept knocking her off.

Auntiep has been sick and had to put her parents back into the home for a while until she's better.

My landlord's here for coffee. I'll be back shortly.

Hi, Auntiep. Hope you're feeling better today. I found your email when I got back from my trip. Sorry your parents had to go back into the home but it was probably the safest and smartest thing to do. You needed the chance to take care of yourself without worrying about infecting all the others in the house. Hope you were able to rest up.

Raggs, how are you doing? I got your emails and enjoyed the pictures. Are you doing any better with the treatment you just had? I know you said that one of your arms was hurting badly. It must be difficult for you to lie still in that position for so long. It sounds so uncomfortable. You're in my prayers, girlfriend.

BonBon, how did your husband make out with his tests? Please keep us updated on him. Of course you both are in my prayers, too.

Alfie, where have you been hiding? We miss you. Hope you're just busy and that you'll be back here soon.

I got home late afternoon on Tuesday but was TOO POOPED TO POST! (hee hee) I just vegetated yesterday. Had a great time with my friends. The days whizzed by. The ride up and back was good. There was still a lot of color in the foliage and it was so pretty. We had some showers but they came at night and the weekend was very warm and pleasant.

Yes, we went to Parker's Maple Barn for breakfast on Sunday and then meandered through the gift shop. Got some things for my sister for Christmas and got myself some maple syrup and maple candies. Shared a lot of memories and made some new ones. That's the best part of visiting old friends.

Hope all of you are having a good week. It's Thursday already and I'm looking forward to Grey's Anatomy tonight.

All you New Yorkers, congrats on your Yankees winning the World Series. Guess you'll be having a ticker tape parade soon.

Next up will be the Super Bowl. I'm rooting for my N.E.Patriots! They're doing well, so far.

maryanne and auntiep, glad to see you guys posting being to quiet qround here. maryanne i am glad you had a good time. i bet you didnt want to come back. i know i want to go back to lancaster and visit with my friends again. and i am going to do it after the holidays. we have to take one of the dogs to the vet he is having a problem with his eye. and my 125 lbs rotty is a big baby when he goes to the vet. he hides behind me and wont let me out of his sight. well talk to everyone later

I'm finally seeing a light at the end of this tunnel!
It's been a pretty crazy week. Like MA said, my youngest had his b'day so we had the party on Friday which was the day of Halloween parties in the schools and I had lot's of prep work to do thru it all! It was a late night and I'm so happy it's over! Meanwhile, Halloween was a wet one and I was more than happy to give the trick-or-treating job to my hubby! I stayed home all alone, listening to music, having a cocktail and finally baking some apple/walnut cakes. It was just lovely! Sunday we had another b'day party at my cousins and the funny thing is her sister went into labor that very same day! She had a healthy baby girl and all is well. My sisters b'day is tomorrow and her sons party is SAturday! Yeah, it's been cookoo around here. Meanwhile, my fridge wasn't cooling since Sunday so I had to get the repair guy over here yesterday and replace ANOTHER part. My fridge is 3 years young. These new appliances are NOT made like the old ones. It's the 2nd part I've needed to replace so far! I asked the guy what should I expect to break next? He said, the icemaker! You gotta love it! I was up late last night watching our amazing NY Yankees win the world series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy, happy day!

Raggs-I am praying that you will be feeling well soon. Sending you all kinds of positive vibes and lots of love. Please use the strength in your circle of friends of family to pull you thru. Please take care. Hope to hear some good news from you, hon. I wish that horrible pain would just go away! Make sure you are watching funny movies only, no news, no depressing, stressful stuff. Keep it relaxing and joyful.

Bonbon-OMG! I read your post and was so happy to hear of the wonderful news regarding your new granddaughter! I love the name Ruby! God bless her and her family. ANd then to read about her hubby was just crazy! I know it seems scary right now, but you cannot lose faith so easily. Don't give up already. I'm sure your hubby has alot of fight in him and he can fight harder to be a big part of Ruby's life too. I always like to mention that 2nd and 3rd opinions are very much a good idea. Pls make sure you are completely comfortable, satisfied and confident in the doctor and procedure you choose. Trust me, there are alot of smart doctors out there and they don't all feel the same about every patient. My father had heart problems and needed a valve replacement. We visited w/quite a few different surgeons and was surprised to learn how varying thier experience level was! I finally asked another doctor that I remember liking alot, who recommended the surgeon we went with in NYC. His confidence and ease w/us made us feel very comfortable. My father had other pre-existing medical conditions also, which concerned us too. In the end, you need to have faith in your decisions. God will be right there w/you. Please keep us posted.

MA-so happy your trip went well! I am so enjoying this time of year w/the glorious foliage. It is such a great time to be up in the NE. Just driving on the parkways or main roads is a treat.

Gval-I'm loving GH too! I thought Sonny's rampage on Claudia at her party was a riot! My mouth fell open and stayed that way! It was wild and crazy and so much fun. I'm loving every eppy! How's work going? ANd Mitch's driving? Are you keeping sane?

Patty-I like the idea of a Halloween party in town for the kids. You must live in a very small town , though?

Shoulderpadqueen-your name is hysterical! WElcome! As a matter of fact, back in the '80's, I loved them too and I personally kept a big plastic bag FILLED w/all kinds of shoulder pads that I would add into all my shirts! Even t-shirts! Just the other day I was mentioning this to my kids about the '80's. I worked in the Fashion Industry so I was a fanatic about any trend. That was pretty funny!
