Quote KeepingItReal: Proverbs 4:23

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

Our life comes from our heart. When we say we have "lost heart" we mean we have lost our zest for life. It is critical we guard our heart against the darkness and against the dark powers of the world because we live and we die according to the condition of our heart. The source of our life is within our heart. Our Saviour, our Lord Jesus, lives within our heart.
To live abundantly, we must be guardians of our heart. We must guard against heartbreak, sadness, and grief. When we experience heartbreak, sadness, and grief we must guard our heart by spending hours in prayer with our Lord Jesus while giving to Him our burdens, cares and woes. When we experience heartbreak we must guard our heart by spending hours giving the Lord thanks for our blessings. It is God's will we should all be free of heartbreak, sadness, and grief. It is God's will we should all live in His joy as we guard our heart by counting our blessings each day. When our life becomes dry and parched, we need only look within our heart for Christ who lives there and in our heart He will bring forth His fountain of living water to give us refreshment and new life.

What a Blessed Word KIR... Guard our hearts with all diligence... AMEN..

Promises About a Good Attitude

We live out the kingdon of God within us when we treasure each other and when we find ways to turn unfortunate things around. Laughter is on of those ways.

Laughter stirs the blood, expands the chest, electrifies the nerves, and clears the cobwebs from the brain. If you laugh a lot, when you are are older all your wrinkles will be in the right place! Barbara Johnson

Proverbs 15:13

A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

2 Corinthians 1:5

Just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

1 Peter 4:13

Rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

The Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7

If we judge others only by their outer appearance, we might miss the wonderful surprise that's in their heart.

O Lord we are so quick to judge,
Though much is veiled from sight
Lord my we see how just you are
To guide us in what's right.

ITS WHAT'S IN THE HEART THAT COUNTS

Submit yourself to God , resist the devil, and he will FLEE!!!

Jacob said to Pharaoh,
Few and evil have been the days of the years of my life
Genesis 47:9

We want the quick fix, but there are no shourtcuts that can accomplish God's ultimate purpose for us. The only way to grow into Christ's likeness is to submit each day to the conditions that God brings into our lives. As we accept His will and submit to His ways, His holiness becomes ours. Progress in inevitable.

give me father, a purpose deep
In joy or sorrow Thy trust to keep,
And so thurough trouble, care, and strife,
Glorify thee in my daily life.

GOD OFTEN EMPTIES OUR HANDS TO FILL OUR HEART

Isaiah 52:7

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Proverbs 25:11

A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

This is just a little message to the Non believers who may check out this thread. The non believer thread started with a question.. something like, I don't know why people want to believe in God.
I will just tell you why I do. I know that I am a fallible human being, it gives me great comfort to know that I am accompanied on my journey through life by an infallible and completely loving God.
I know that human's have a soul that longs for company. It gives me great comfort to know that I am never alone, for an unconditionally loving God lives within me and never leaves me.
I have had people (especially the kids I work with) state to me with almost a proud arrogance "I don't believe in God" as though somehow that means he doesn't exist. I want to tell them, not believing in gravity doesn't mean it isn't there. Try not believing in the wind. How about a stop sign. Try telling a police officer you don't believe in stop signs. LOL.. They are still there.
God is love. Love is what God is and what God does. I don't know how anyone can say they don't believe in love. I have had people shake there heads and pity me for my belief in God. Well that's just fine. The thing is, I'd rather believe in God, who is perfect love, then to simply rely upon myself, because omg I do know exactly what I am without him.
What a lonely life it would be. Thank you God that you have shown me your unconditional love, that you have exchanged my dirty unrighteouness for your glowing righteouness, that you have exchanged my sinfullness for your perfection, and that even though I am still a human that makes mistakes, someone so completely undeserving of your salvation, you choose to look at me and see the child that you love. Thank you for Grace. Amen.

Let the peace of God rule in your hearts.... and be thankful
Colossians 3:15

Let's take time often to recall how God has rescued us from eternal death and has given us eternal life through His Son. Let's make certain that we never allow thanking the Father to become a lost art.

Give me a spirit of thankfulness Lord,
For numberless blessings given
Blessings that daily come to me
Like dewdrops falling from heaven.

WITH PRACTICE, ANYONE CAN MASTER THE ART OF THANKFULNESS

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:5

thou shalt love... choosing to be patient, kind, self-less, and humble (1 Cor 13:4-5) We can love others even though we may not like them, because its a matter of making a choice.

He knows, though, that we are not capable of doing this on our own. That's why He's given us the Holy Spirit to empower us to a life of loving obedience. With his help, we can learn to love those we dont like.. who knows , we may begin to like them.

O lord, how often selfishness
Will raise its ugly head,
So help us, Lord, to conquer it
And show Your Love instead.

LOVING OTHERS REQUIRES A HEART OF OBEDIENCE TO GOD

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you
1 Peter 5:7

God has provided a way to spiritually decompress.. A personal devotion time can be a place where burdens are lifted (Mark 1: 35-39). There we can cast all our care upon him. By focusing on God's sufficiency we can experience His peace. (isa. 26:3).. Do you have a place of spiritual decompression?

there is a quiet resting place
Where peace and joy are found
where burdens may be laid aside
And faith and love abound

THOSE WHO WAIT ON THE LORD SHALL RENEW THEEIR STRENGTH.
ISAIAH 40:31

Not only so, but let us also rejoice in our sufferings, because sufferings produces percerverence; percerverence, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into out hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5: 3 - 5

It gives me great joy to know that every hard time I go through he is bringing me closer to him.

God is our Father, I believe that praying is like running and jumping into The Fathers arms and talking to Him. I fell asleep the other night in the middle of praying and woke up with a smile knowing that like a precious child falls asleep in their fathers arms that I fell asleep in The Fathers arms. What better joy can their possibly be?

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but eternal life.

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

Amen

These words which i command you today shall be in your heart.
Deuteronomy 6:6

Words of scripture on a plaque, a memory card, or a calendar can turn our focus toward the Lord throughout the day. These visible reminders of Christ and his Word will encourage our steps of obedience to Him.

PUTTING IT INTO PRACTICE

Memorize a verse of Scripture as you go to work
Write a verse on a card, and tape it where it is visible
Meditate on that verse during the day.

STORE THE BIBLE IN YOUR HEART,
NOT ON THE SHELF!
