I love to shop online also......I order skincare products from a company called H2O plus, they have retail stores but not where I live...so I order online. I order books and CD's from Amazon and I do order some clothes from Lands End and Eddie Bauer...standard things that I know will fit, like polo shirts etc. I have even ordered a vintage map on line, my husband collects vintage maps and there are good sources for them online. So yes indeedy....I do my share of online shopping |

Probably the most valuable map we have is one of the United States...pre Civil War, very beautiful. Another one of my favorites that we have is of the Hawaiian Islands and the names of the islands are written out phonetically, so like for the island of Maui it says Moweee and so on. We also have England and Wales (we bought in London) and Cuba, then several of the Pacific Northwest (where I live). Anyway it is a fun quest to find these old maps!! |

What neat items to collect - I like maps too and have lots of old road maps from gas stations when they used to give them away FREE! |

I love overstock.com also, and I am going to check out the Italian Pottery Outlet you mentioned. You also mentioned the American Girls Dolls -- made me think of my daughter, she is away at college and I miss her tons, anyway she had the American Girl Doll named Molly, the one with braids and glasses. She just loved that doll, and we ordered several outfits for Molly (kind of expensive though). Molly and her wardrobe are safely packed away.......just waiting for another little girl (hopefully future grandaughters) to play with her. |

I always liked Molly I guess because she is my generation. I wore glasses too and I had a little steamer trunk for my doll clothes that Molly has. |

Wow...your lucky grandaughters. I hope they have taken good care of them. I loved playing with Barbies when I was growing up (the 60's). I always pretended my Barbie was Jackie Kennedy. I took really good care of them and had a special trunk for my Barbies........after I left home for college my Mom let the neighbor kids play with them and they pretty much ruined them. Still makes me mad to this day. Oh well whatya goin to do |

Oh that is a shame! Barbies are collectible. |

By the way........you are brave to hit the stores the day after Christmas.....so crowded huh?? Italian Pottery is a neat place. Go there and request a catalog cuz sometimes at this time of the year especially they will send you a coupon for free shipping for a limited time. You might only get on if you buy something first though. Yep it is crowded but I get there a few minutes before the stores open - they open about 6:30 AM. |

Thanks for the tip on requesting a catalog....my husband will be thrilled with me getting yet another catalog |

Remember when Sears and Penney's used to send those five pound catalogs in the mail? |
shopgirl![]() |
Oh yes I do......also Montgomery Wards. I don't even think they are in business anymore?? Oh and when the Christmas catalog would come, we would go through it page by page and make lists of the toys we wanted. My list always included Barbie stuff, and toy cooking sets. I think kids are a little more "sophisticated" these days. Now they want Ipods, digital cameras, cell phones...........ugh! |
