Online?

Do you shop online? If so,... what kinds of things do you buy? I've bought everything from soft paws for my cats, a tiara, to books... the list goes on. I have also bought perfume, but have never bought clothes or shoes. These things I need to try on, because you never know... sizes are never that clear, I find.

What about you?

I love to shop online also......I order skincare products from a company called H2O plus, they have retail stores but not where I live...so I order online. I order books and CD's from Amazon and I do order some clothes from Lands End and Eddie Bauer...standard things that I know will fit, like polo shirts etc. I have even ordered a vintage map on line, my husband collects vintage maps and there are good sources for them online. So yes indeedy....I do my share of online shopping

Cool Amazon is a staple! Ebay, too! :P

Vintage maps. That is so cool. I knew a girl from an old job that used to collect them. She also collected school maps. You know, the ones that the teacher would pull down over the chalk boards? They're great! I love globes...both my husband and I have a thing for maps and globes, too.

OoOo H2Oplus is a nice site. I've used Yves Rocher quite often. It's similar.

Probably the most valuable map we have is one of the United States...pre Civil War, very beautiful. Another one of my favorites that we have is of the Hawaiian Islands and the names of the islands are written out phonetically, so like for the island of Maui it says Moweee and so on. We also have England and Wales (we bought in London) and Cuba, then several of the Pacific Northwest (where I live). Anyway it is a fun quest to find these old maps!!

What neat items to collect - I like maps too and have lots of old road maps from gas stations when they used to give them away FREE!

I shop online quite a bit. I was reluctant to at first but now I just forge right ahead. I shop at Amazon, L.L. Bean, The Italian Pottery Outlet, Overstock.com. I just ordered digital cameras for two of my granddaughters today for Christmas from overstock and a chess set for my grandson. I also have bought American Girl Dolls for all four of my granddaughters. Alas the youngest is ten this year and says she doesn't think she wants one this year

With the exception of buying online at L.L. Bean for jeans and polo shorts I prefer shopping for clothes at the department stores where I can try them on and exchange them easily if I am not satisfied with them.

I love to shop!!! I always bring something back from travels. Usually Christmas gifts for members of my family no matter what time of year I go. I always go shopping the day after Christmas for half price ornaments.

I love overstock.com also, and I am going to check out the Italian Pottery Outlet you mentioned. You also mentioned the American Girls Dolls -- made me think of my daughter, she is away at college and I miss her tons, anyway she had the American Girl Doll named Molly, the one with braids and glasses. She just loved that doll, and we ordered several outfits for Molly (kind of expensive though). Molly and her wardrobe are safely packed away.......just waiting for another little girl (hopefully future grandaughters) to play with her.

By the way........you are brave to hit the stores the day after Christmas.....so crowded huh??

I like to shop for miniatures.

Or basically, get all my ideas from.

Right now, I'm making, a miniature bordello.

I'm having so much fun.

You would not believe, what's out there for miniatures.

I also love Amazon and The Books a Million webpage.

www.bamm.com.

I also like to see the webpages of the gh stars.

I think Kelly Monaco, has the best one right now.

I always liked Molly I guess because she is my generation. I wore glasses too and I had a little steamer trunk for my doll clothes that Molly has.

I have bought Samantha, two Kits, Kirsten and three of the doll of the years. I bought the beds for the two Kits, the little wicker table and chair set for Samantha and found trunks like Samantha's at other stores that look identical but were much much cheaper. There is a store here in town where a woman sews clothes for the American Girl Dolls and other dolls that size. They are really nice and about 30% cheaper. I used to be a really good customer of hers until my granddaughters got too old for the dolls.

Wow...your lucky grandaughters. I hope they have taken good care of them. I loved playing with Barbies when I was growing up (the 60's). I always pretended my Barbie was Jackie Kennedy. I took really good care of them and had a special trunk for my Barbies........after I left home for college my Mom let the neighbor kids play with them and they pretty much ruined them. Still makes me mad to this day. Oh well whatya goin to do

Oh that is a shame! Barbies are collectible.

Yes, my four granddaughters have kept them in good shape. They are nice dolls though and worth the price. Their hair is even nice and stays in pretty good shape .

My aunt bought one of her granddaughters Samantha and my cousin told me recently that the dog bit its head off and they have never told my aunt about it and she has never asked about the doll. She is a lot better than I am cuz I go looking for them when I am at their houses It made me really upset to think of the dog biting the doll's head off. I would have been furious with the dog!

Italian Pottery is a neat place. Go there and request a catalog cuz sometimes at this time of the year especially they will send you a coupon for free shipping for a limited time. You might only get on if you buy something first though.

Yep it is crowded but I get there a few minutes before the stores open - they open about 6:30 AM.

Oh yes I do......also Montgomery Wards. I don't even think they are in business anymore?? Oh and when the Christmas catalog would come, we would go through it page by page and make lists of the toys we wanted. My list always included Barbie stuff, and toy cooking sets. I think kids are a little more "sophisticated" these days. Now they want Ipods, digital cameras, cell phones...........ugh!
