Yeah, if you'd read back a few pages in this thread you'll note that our message boards will be drastically changing soon. New features will be added and what' you're talking about - Topic Notification Emails- is a feature we'll have.

Mona Lisa

Good Morning,
I was so sad to learn of the death of the Chit chat thread. Before chit chat, I wondered about fellow posters, and through it got to know them better. I feel posters, make up and are as much as important as the show. On chit chat, we learned, where people lived, their occupation, their life ect. We were able to tell, when we might be off the board, for awhile and why, tell if we were ill, our hobbies, love of pets ect.We built friendships. I read on as the world turns board, why it was killed off. It said there were not enough moderators, to monitor, and to use the lounge. The chit chat thread was user friendly, and it would look to me, like easier to monitor, than, all the different threads in the lounge.I have seen people make a whole thread on comments, that could have easily been asked and answered, on chit chat. I have looked at the lounge, and do not see it as becoming acquainted with anybody. I know the boards are about the show, but the posters make the board. If a lounge has to be used, I think it would be nicer if a lounge would be made for each board. I know you must have seen chit chat was popular, but not overly used. I wish you would reconcider. I thought about making a thread, who misses chit chat, but figured I might get in trouble for it. Why destroy a thread, so many used and loved.

I had problems with getting onto the message boards for days, and wrote to Sonia, who helped me. I wrote you, and the problem has been solved, and I thank you

Hi Mona Lisa,

The chit chat threads are still going daily in the lounge. This was posted when we removed the lengthy threads that were difficult to control.

So you can post a new chat thread daily to talk to any friends. Our editors delete them after a day or so has passed and then you start up a new one. This helps our mods to be able to monitor these threads when they're two or three pages as opposed to 200 pages.

I'm glad you finally got into the boards. Sonia spoke with me about you and I was curious as to how things went this weekend.

Quote poohbearjag: I love the site, but I sure do wish that Soap.com would put the Y&R on at a reasonable time. They can put it back on at 6 am instead of Dallas. That's an old boring show !!!! Please pass this on to them. I miss my show and now this is the only place I can find out what is happening.

Jaimi

You think Dallas is old and boring? Honey, Dallas was THE soap back in the 80s only to be challenged by its spinoff Knots Landing and let's not forget about Dynasty. More people watched "Who Shot JR" than anything else and I'm talking world wide. That was the first and only time a soap storyline effected the world's economy. *shakes head* These kids today....lol!

Sorry for getting OT but that nearly made me swoon.

Chrissi that would absolutely rock!! I know what Snizzle is referring to and trust me, it's makes it a LOT easier. I was on a board where they have a link "See replies to your posts" and when you click on it, it lists all the threads you've posted to that have a response. It's not necessarily a response to what you wrote but anytime someone posts in a thread that you've posted in, it will come up in that link.

Keeping up with a list is okay if you have the time to do that but I usually visit this board when I'm mentally tired at work and my desk is already covered with so much paper that if I laid it out end to end I might be able to walk to the moon!

I love this site and I'm very excited about the upcoming changes. Can't say it enough, you guys are AWESOME!

This an open Letter to Soaps.com's posters and admins's:

To whom it may concern,

What happened last week? I was in Cancun for Spring Break and come back to Liason/Jasam threads being taken down!

I was on soaps.com the first week or so of its opening. I am on like page one or two if you go back to the beginning... I was asked to be a moderator but b/c of school, couldn't.

I love this site... I told some post'ers of my pregnancy before my sisters knew & I tell alot of ppl in my university about it...

But some of the admins don't allow post'ers to really debate things. The problem as I see it is that as some of them aren't even GH fans some don't see it as a problem to close, erase, or exclude any post they don't like.

The Sam/Jason/Liz/Lucky SL is OF HUGE IMPORTANCE on GH right now, SO the Sam/Jason/Liz/Lucky is of importance to fans.

PLEASE stop treating us like children. Chrissi, in your post at the end of the Jasam thread you said we weren't clicking "report bad posts", and sometimes debated the crashers...

But we aren't kids, and we did get them to stop bashing and go back on there own posts so we are Problem Solvers not Trouble Makers...

I love Soaps.com's Message Board Layout (it way easier to navigate then some) but they are losing ppl everyday b/c they won't allow posters some freedom.

With so many moderators being so over-zealous about posts and being able to go from show to show and take down posts it makes posters feel like "WHY AM I WRITING THIS... It'll only be taken down in an hour!"

I know the rules and so do most posters but if some moderators read them and then the posts they'd see we're not so bad.

I get why we have rules about:

1. No bashing, profanity, racial, ethnic, religious, or sexual orientation slurs
2. Actor/Actress bashing
3. ALL CAP'S (ettiquette)
4. Posting Rumors/Spoilers w/out identifying them

BUT WHY NOT BE ABLE TO:

1. Debate others with different viewpoints? We know we cant call actors or other posters bad names but why can't we call ppl out on lies or mistruths without "warnings"?

2. Promote a Fan-only environment? Jasam and Liason fans are probally 70% of your GH posters (a few couldn't care less, but not most) so why can't they have thread-specific conversations.

I think that "Jasam Fans Only" and "Liason Fans Only" should be put in the top with the rules. These threads were more important to fans than the awards thing anyway, and if an admin really had to 'keep up on the GH'ers like it sounds' then this way it'd be easier!

Sincerly,

AMH Edited by Moderator: Please do not post your real age or name for your own safety, Thanks!GH fan since 1990/1991

Here is an open letter to you and all posters: (Cheeky)

Last week we closed all chit chat threads that were going on and asked that people open new ones daily and we closed the Jasam/Liason threads and reopened new threads that are still bash free but they will allow for more debates from others who are non-Jasam or non-Liason fans. This does not mean they can bash the posters as usual but it means that people now must learn to debate. At least, this is what we want.
All admins allow debate. We do not allow poster bashing. Anything that is closed or removed is out of annoyance because some people don't know how to moderate. This happens on any board.

The comment about treating you like children - I'm not sure what you're referring to so you'll need to be more specific. There are some children on the site who are 12-17 and what can we do?

I encourage debate but all I see on GH is posters bashing one another. That's past tense. If you go there now you'll see that it's not happening.

I don't know what you mean by 'moderators' aren't allowing debate. I truly hope that is not the case and I can't be in a thousand places at once. I have to trust them. They really are only doing their job and trying not to allow bashing. If you were a mod you'd understand that it's not an easy job.

Most posters are fine. It's only a few bad seeds that make things difficult. Most are gone now so hopefully that won't happen.

I don't get it. Read the guidelines. Read them. Seriously. You'll answer your own question. We encourage debate in the guidelines. Why does nobody read that part? Please read it and come back!!!

Again, you must not have gone to the GH board because those threads are there. Now, the Jasam and LIason fans are all friends and can debate much better. It's all been done for the best and things are looking up.

Thanks for posting!

I'm really glad you're noticing that!! Although we're not completely finished with the overhaul, everyone should notice that the boards are a lot quicker of course. I will send out a newsletter to all who apply to it to explain what happened.

Also, sorry about last night's newsletter going out blank. Our amazing programmers and system admin guys (so dedicated) were working them and they went out too soon. Sorry about it, truly. We'll try to ensure they're working fine today.

We hope today that everything will be fixed.

Since we've had so many new sign ups, our little server couldn't handle it, so that's why we have had all these issues. We didn't expect to get this humongous so quickly!!

Are we having problems posting and it takes about 10 times to post something is it because of all the work you are doing?

Is that happening now, Maria? Keep in mind that we're not finished fixing the site, so there may still be issues until then. When you get a newsletter telling you that we're fixed up, then we should not see anymore issues.

It took me 10 times to get one thread to post. I love Soaps.com but this is rediculous when you can't even get a post to go through. I really don't think that it is fair that we all have to suffer because of a select few acting crazy (so to speak) I hope yall do something soon because right now this is not good.
