Soaps.com - MESSAGE BOARDS

Hi all,

I live in the UK and I'm a huge fan of US soaps. They are much more exciting than the bland and often depressing soaps that get shown over here. Unfortunately NONE of your soaps are being shown over here at the moment, can you believe that?

But I try to keep up with some through "other" means. My favourite at the moment is The Bold and The Beautiful.

My favourite US soap of all-time though is Sunset Beach, which thankfully was shown in full over here during its shortlived time on the air. There was something really special about it, I was gutted when it was axed.

So on that note, I was wondering which of the existing soaps would you recommend I watch? Which one is most like SB? I know B&B has had a fair few ex SB stars in it which is what originally attracted me to it, and I have come to love the show but in a different way. Unfortunately it still doesn't come close to SB, and I was just wondering if there was one out there that does?

I have tried Passions, but the only similarity I can find with SB is it drags. (Only it's 10x worse on Passions!) And I can't help but feel slightly gutted that Passions, which has regularly attracted lower audiences than SB did, managed to survive much longer and is now being given a second shot on another network. But hey, life is unfair sometimes.

Anyway, I'm drifting off into other areas now. Hope you guys can help!

First Welcome to the board!!!! It is nice you found your way here.... All of the soaps on this board offer daily recaps...so you may find them of some interest to you.

My favorite soap is The Young and the Restless.... It is kind of a sister soap to B&B as alot of the characters cross from one to the other.... Right now Ashley who used to be on Y&R is on B&B and Christine Blair will be on B&B also...from the Y&R.. Once in a while Lauren Fenmore Baldwin makes a visit over to B&B, she's from Y&R....AND NOW Amber Moore from B&B is on Y&R..... SO I think you would enjoy this show.

I watch Guidling Light. It has been on for 70 years. I don't see the show canceling anytime soon. The show seems to not let their storylines drag on to long. I think you would find this soap good to watch.

Also One Life To Live is another one. Now they may drag out their story lines a little, but they are not as so dragging like on Passions. I watch Passions too, it my favorite soap.

Days of our lives is amazing and they are starting some really exciting story lines now....theres going to be HUGE ones going on this summer!
