My pleasure -- I buy the hearts of romaine in pkg., usually come three to a package. I trim off just a teeny bit of the core end (just to clean it up), then slice them lengthwise in half. At this point I carefully rinse them under cold water and then lay them on paper towel to drain and dry. When you are ready to grill, drizzle them with olive oil, salt and pepper and lay them on grill cut side down. Depending on the heat of your grill this really goes quick.....so watch them closely. I use tongs to check them and once they begin to get grill marks and wilt a little they are done. At this point you can use a favorite dressing or I prefer a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and maybe a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Enjoy!!! |
