What would you save.....?

Eppy

Heaven forbid this would ever happen, but in case of fire or evacuation, aside from family members and pets, which ten items would you scramble to save from harm?

Personal Papers
Photos
Prescriptions
(the 3 "P"'s)
Grandmother's hand crocheted bedspread
Recipe file
Memory Box of momentos
Computer Hard Drive
Jewelry
Purse

We had to evacuate in the Ojai fire in the middle 80's -it was interesting to see what everyone took- the kids especially- I took all of my photos and negatives-old family heirlooms- family bible-

I thought it was interesting when I saw Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows being interviewed and the subject came up. She said she had a long list, but when their house actually did catch on fire, all she saved was the afghan she was crocheting and her false eyelashes. LOL

That gal used to really crack me up - she was so funny. But, she wasn't kidding when she talked about saving her eyelashes.

Oh my!

You can't buy a life!

If it were an evacuation (there's more time and collective thought at my age)I would take the following:

*Pictures
*My home safe (income tax-birth certificates-passports- deeds etc)
*A few bags/luggage of clothes
*Car alarms/keys(they're worth a small fortune)
*CPU
*Lap Top
*CD's (I love my music-lots of oldies)
*phone/address book (I'm going to need it)
*purse
*automobiles

As Long as my children and pets are safe everything else is trivial!imo
