I'm sure most of ya'll have heard about the pilot and co-pilot that were out of radio contact for over one hour with their tower/airport where they were expected to land. Seems like they somehow got distracted and overshot their destination by about an hour and only realized their mistake when a flight attendant knocked on their door and they turned around at that point. Now, many pilots and co-pilots are coming forward anonymosly with stories of how they fell asleep during flights whether they were long or short but especially LONG FLIGHTS while the airplane has been put on autopilot! It seems some companies abuse the scheduling that is "allowed" by the FAA. Rules that say a pilot/co-pilot can be scheduled for up to 16 hours with 8 of them being flying! SIXTEEN HOURS! SIXTEEN HOURS! No wonder we are getting these "horror" stories! The FAA is finally going to be changing these rules that haven't been touched since the 1940's but at WHAT cost to the men, women, and children that have ALREADY lost their lives to the continued CORPORATE GREED of CORPORATIONS? What do ya'll think of these revelations by the pilots/co-pilots?

IMO...this why it is very important to pray and assign your angels to accompany you in travel. I wouldn't think to step on a plane before doing that--when I put my trust in God, I have peace when I fly. Fear is not something you want to have in your head for anything, or you will be jumpy with every pocket of air the plane flies through...LOL...I don't mind the pilots using auto-pilot when they need to, but I don't approve of FAA putting these men and women through countless hours of flying, with so little pay and benefits...it's hard traveling away from your family for work, I've done it plenty of times--it takes me a day or so to adjust to the hotel and time changes, so what these pilots and crew are going through is quadruple that! I hope and pray their work conditions get better and improve ASAP! I don't want my pilots playing 'Grand Theft Auto' on a laptop when he/she should be handling the plane and protecting the safety of all on board...

i have always hated to fly and this makes it even worse, we had that plane that hit the house and everyone died including one person in the house, the fact that these pilots are flying tired and sick is very scary to me
