i wanted to see if in fact illegal immigrants will be covered, in the public health plan
these are the two sites i used
politicalticker.blog
www.whitehouse.gov

it is a myth that illegals will be getting free health insurance in the public option, residents, legal and illegal will be required to purchase health insurance(which i think is good) currently, if anyone gos to an emergency room, you cannot be denied treatment, so we are paying for these people already, the public option will make them responsible for their own insurance because it will be affordable

Attention:

Queen Nancy Pelosi requests that you call it the Consumer Option now....not the Public option or the Gov't Option its the "Consumer Option." Got that? You see, instead of actually changing the policy, Queen Nancy has decided that she will just change the name to make it sound better. Anyone who falls for that its blinder than Adam on the Young and the Restless. This is just about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard her say. (and thats saying alot LOL!)

I know here in RI at least, They always find a way to get away with it. My sister in law work for a doctors office and see's it all the time but it's hard to prove. Awhile back a factory the next state over got shut down because of illegals and many of them had public health ins. even though they were here illegally.
My state has an option already anyway it's called rite care/rite share, and depending on your income(and you must have children) you will pay some or get it free. But the benefit either way is that your copays are covered, your prescriptions(sp?) will be covered as well as over the counter items like tylenol and such.

i was wondering if our medicaid is only available to legals, i am ashamed to say i really don't know, anyway, if they are getting free medicare care, wouldn't it be better to make them pay for it with a public option
i still say, we are all paying for it now, with emergency room visits and in the city of buffalo, there are a lot of uninsured people getting care, and for things any primary could do at a much cheaper rate

I have a so-called Medicare Advantage plan, for which I pay in addition to Medicare. I did it to have a little cushion against losing my home due to high medical bills. I am fortunate, I am pretty healthy for an old heifer. President Obama has repeatedly mentioned clamping down on such plans; I don't think he realizes what we pay to keep ourselves off public aid, nor do the senators and representatives. My additional fee has risen almost 400% for 2010. I did read on MSN on "The Real Truth" (or something similar), that seniors with Medicare Advantage plans would bear 30% of the cost of the public health option. I am mad as hell, because I worked full time for 48 years and never accepted any help from public money. My husband and I took care of our son and ourselves. I am against it. I worked for a Government agency, and I shudder to think of them managing insurance

I have to wonder, cats, what kind of society would only provide health care to someone in need of care only if they were a citizen of the country?

I know that in the state of NC absolutely no one who is not a citizen gets medicaid. No one who does not have small children gets medicade unless they have been declared disable by SS. However the Health Department takes care of the children. The parents are on their own but thank God sick children of any nationality are taken care of here regardless of a green card.

California takes care of everyone- illegals first, and then tax paying citizens--but no one goes with medical care--

Today Joe Lieberman I-Connecticut joins the Republicans in opposing the public option and said he would fillibuster with the GOP if that option is in the healthcare bill. Things are starting to heat up, this could go either way!

I strongly agree with Joe when he said that we don't have to change everything at once. Why can't the bill start with removing pre-existing conditions and offer subsidy to low income people to buy individual plans? Many of the fiscal conservatives are very skeptical of how the dems plan to pay for the major overhaul. If they can't manage Medicare and Medicare (or even cash for clunkers) then the Federal Government is not ready for a major overhaul. Reform is necessary, but it doesn't have to come as a tidal wave.

I do agree on some level but Personally I have no interest in paying someones way(when I have a hard enough time taking care of the family I do have)when they have no bussiness being here in the first place(imo). Im actually debating switching to the state's rite care plan(as it will be free(our income falls well below the range), and my hubby is still out of work) but even though $$ is tight I feel like I'd be taking away from those who really need it.

i am trying hard to understand this and am in no way trying to be sarcastic

for those of you against the public option, do you think it is ok for insurance companies to charge such high rates? deny health coverage? deny treatments? drop policy holders if they become too sick? and finally, make such huge profits?
