Yes...it happened in this day and age. Does a judge have the right to deny signing a marriage license for an interracial couple based on his own personal convictions? |

where do you find this stuff? I think it sounds ridiculous and there must be more behind it! I know all I did when I wanted to get married was go to the town hall asked for a form and filled it out. There was no judge involved. We were in/out in less than 5 min. if I remeber correctly. so something here imo just doesn't sound right imo |

Well then he's an ediot what can I say! I thoght you meant obtaining the liscense! And either way they should go to someone else and tell anyone who will listen what a flake the other guy is! If they want to get married bad though Im sure they'll find away!! Thats all thats needed imo. I know where I live Justices of the peace area dime a dozen! They perform marraiges on the side to make extra cash, so if he doesn't want to marry them Oh well his loss!! someone else can make the $$ I know mine cost $100(and I was married in my familys home) |

Ok, does this judge even know that CAJUNS are a mix oif Caucasian, African, Carribean, Canadian, and French just to name a few. my sister is married to a Cajun man and they have been married over 30 years. As has everyone in his family. Most Cajuns are Catholic and have longggggggggg marriages. Where did this man get his information. I hope this couple "sues" the judge and it goes all the way to the SUPREME COURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Well - - I read the link and this is far too funny for me to even indulge in. The justice of peace didn't refuse to marry them, just said HE wouldn't do it. More stupidity. I don't even call it racisim anymore - - just pure stupidity and just goes to show there are still Neanderthals living. |

Yes, I do care that there are people in positions of power who should be protecting the rights of citizens, namely apply for a marriage license, but sit on his racist a@@ and pronounce he has nothing against black people, but won't sign a license to let one marry someone non-black. If you can't handle requests like that, step down from the bench. I wouldn't expect a doctor who is pro-life to be forced to give abortions. If it bothers him that much, then don't be in the position to dash someone else's desire just because you don't "think it's right." It's unjust and I don't sleep on fools like this--they've been excused for too long and swatted away as ignorant hicks, but as we've seen the 400% increase in racist hate towards the president, the astronomical rise in gun purchases by idiots anticipating a "race war" etc, this judge's ignorance should not be anywhere near a court of law nor does he deserve to hold any title of honor. He cannot be impartial and uphold civil rights equally for any citizen, and I hope the Justice Dept comes down on him hard... WHEW! That felt good...lol |
