Quote clicquot1: WOW, SUNNY & CATS both great, great hints/tips. CATS, love the one about putting tapers in the freezer, but do you know HOW I can get tapers to stay upright. Almost all of them do BUT once in a blue moon I will have one that will fall out of the candle holders. I have mostly silver or crystal holders and really don't think it's the holders, maybe it is the heat. I have tried using hot candle wax to seal and even the sticky items that are specifically for that purpose. Suggestions? And SUNNY thanks so much for the compliment. Talk to ya'll later!

the sticky stuff has always worked for me, sorry

Quote Sunnydaz: For a year now, since i bought my laptop i have not been able to copy and paste anything on this site. Everywhere else i travel in cyberspace, no problem. Like links to other websites such as youtube links i couldnt copy because when i tried it would copy the whole page not just the link. I couldnt for the life of me figure out why this was. So a long time ago i started a thread asking for help. No one but me seemed to have this trouble. Even admin tried to help me with no success.

I FINALLY figured out what was wrong. I went to tools, clicked on compatibility view settings, and added soaps.com in the box provided. Thats all i had to do!!!!

Reason i am posting this is incase anyone else is having this problem, hopefully this will be of some help.

Gr8 thread btw

ok, i can never copy and paste snopes.com, i went to tools, but i don't have compatibility view settings, could it be different on my pc, we have vista right now(we will be getting windows seven soon) i have no idea what any of these things really are

Cats Meow, let me see if I can help you. I have Window Vista also.

Step 1: at the top of this page where you see- FILE- EDIT- VIEW- FAVORITES- TOOLS- HELP

Step 2: Click on TOOLS, scroll down to COMPATABILITY VIEW SETTINGS, click, and a box should open.

Step3: SOAPS.com is in the box, click ADD, then click CLOSE.

Hope this helps you & anyone who needs to know. Take care

I'm sure most posters are doing this but I keep forgetting to do it.

Let's say you want to go back to a thread you visited a few days ago, and you need to search through several pages to find the thread.

This is what to do in the future: while you are in a thread you plan to return to:

Click on FAVORITES at the top of this page, click on Add to Favorites.

The next time you want to go back to that thread, just click on FAVORITES at the top and scroll down until you find the thread you want.

You can save as many threads as you want or any website you want to remember.

I just found this great tip recently for cleaning jalapenos...

--Cut off the stem end of the jalapeno and use your carrot peeler (stick in all the way to the point of the jalapeno) to core out the seeds and the "Hot" white pulp. Now you don't have to touch hot inside contents.

Peel a banana from opposite the stem end and you will never get strings. Also, did you know a banana has three sections? If you carefully split a banana down the length you will get three lengths - makes it easier to cut into smaller chunks.

Prevent soil from draining out of flowerpots. When repotting, place a filter at the bottom, over the drainage hole, then add the soil

if you have cork in a bottle of wine, place a coffee filter over the bottle when you pour

Coffee filters also make good window washing 'cloths' and wipes - no streaks or fuzzies. I bunch several of them together and wash my windows and mirrors with a strong solution of plain alcohol and water - best cleaning solution I've ever used.

Use an airtight plastic bag and pour in a solution of about 2/3 alcohol and 1/3 water and place in freezer. This will make a 'slushy' ice pack because alcohol does not freeze - only the water will.
