Not me- I think we all have people or things who we feel are beneath us - I know I do - certain behaviors are beneath me,as are certain people, roman polanski for instance -the pageant is just fluff- His agreeing to participate as a judge sure makes me screw my face up-what's next, the new bachelor??

gommie, I'm shocked anyone wants to be a judge or participate in the pageants anymore. They attempt to legitimize the whole thing by offering scholarships. Most of these people claim to be in college or graduated with degrees (tic) so what's the point? Years ago, I thought Miss American meant something, like a good example, but I don't believe that anymore. It's all fluff - like you say!

how many of you listen to rachael maddow??


Cats I have actually watched Rachel Maddow....and I think she is also for the most part an entertainer making money, she just happens to be on the libral side. Of course she brings up major topics and leans left to her audience, just like Fox new's like Hannety and Beck lean toward the conservative side. CNN has Chris Matthews(I think it's CNN) and MSNBC has Keith Oberman along with Maddow. To me they are all the same....I sometimes watch for the entertainment of it all.

Rush is an entertainer and also brings up topics of interest, but I really don't think he takes all he says as serious as those that listen to him. He is as much of a rebel rouser as the next guy libral or conservative. He just has a GREAT BIGGER audience than anyone else.

Not saying that he or any other I mentioned don't believe in what they say all the time, but just like everything else, ratings are important and the more controversal any of them are the bigger the ratings.

Thank you also Cats for being willing and able to discuss without getting nasty!

Great discussion but Im gonna give yall the bottom line:

The players cannot decide who owns the team. But the owners can decide who plays. PERIOD! If they dont like the owners they can try to get out of their contracts but those things are air-tight.

so this is alot of hooplah over nothing....

The players can't decide who the owners is BUT the other NFL OWNERS do VOTE on the approval of the new owner. At least ONE of those OWNERS(MINNESOTA) is AN AFRICAN AMERICAN. Whether that would be a determining factor or NOT, I do NOT know. The ex-owner of the VIKINGS(RED McCOMBS)of SAN ANTONIO does NOT think that the owners would approve the sale because of the controversy that could affect the owners bottom line. Wonder how ole JJ would vote?

Rush Limbaugh's bid to buy the St. Louis Rams ran into opposition within the NFL on Tuesday. Colts owner Jim Irsay vowed to vote against him and commissioner Roger Goodell said the conservative commentator's "divisive" comments would not be tolerated from any NFL insider.
