Maybe she thinks she can see Russia from her back porch and isn't very good at geography but the woman knows her math! She turned out a 400 page book 4 months early and took a $1,000,000.00 for it. Her speaking engagements costs $100,000 a pop...and she did her first gig in China. No offers to speak in the good old USA but she will rake in the money around the globe. If she stayed in her Governor's seat she would have forfeited all this money. Yep she struck while the "iron was hot" as they say.

you know how the game telephone goes....one person says something and after alot of people hear the message..it's never what the original person said?

Well then people should know that Palin never said she could see Russia from her porch...Tina Fey from Saturday Night Live said it....but everyone wants to give Palin the credit for the quote.

In parts of Alaska..YOU can SEE Russia...thats a FACT

Anyway Good for Sarah Palin...Capitolism at it's best!

And she is not the first politician to write a book....and won't be the last. At least she's working for her money and putting food on the table.

I wonder how many people would be interested in my life so I could make a cool million....LOL (no need to repond to that retorical question.. )

1- Sarah Palin never said she could see Russia from her front porch. Palin said you can see parts of Russia from Alaska which is true for those you who do not know your geography. Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin said the thing about seeing Russia from her front porch.

2- The reason Palin has to raise all of this money is because of frivilous lawsuits files against her, all of which have been dismissed. All it takes is the cost of a stamp to file an ethics complaint. You dont even have to have proof. Yet, Palin still has to pay lawyers to get them dismissed....that adds up to alot of money. People with a bone to pick for personal reasons filed these ethics complaints and as I said before, all of these frivilous lawsuits have been dismissed.

Palins new book, Going Rogue: An American Life, will come out on 11/17 and is already #1 on Barnes and Nobles and Amazon. 150 million copies are available for pre-order and they are expecting them to sell out.

Just want to correct a mistake...there are 1.5 million copies of the book available for pre-order....sorry.

Well since they barely teach geography and most people take hear say as a fact it's not suprising(anything to shift our attn from where it should be)! My son didn't even know Alaska was part of the US last year(and he was in 7th gr)He thought the biggest state was California Nice!! Thats what are tax dollars are their for though right? Im planning on buying her book! It's funny everyone always says they want an every day person they can relate to and we finally got one and all some people can do is tear he to shreads. Interesting!!

It just does not matter what Sarah Palin does, there are going to be people that find fault with everything she does, she was no good as a governor, nor was she vp material, now she is at fault for writing a book!!! People that don't like her need to just give it up, she is a wonderful lady that many, many people love and that think she is very smart. Would like to see some of her critics run a state, write a book, etc. I am so sick of people always saying mean things about her!! Think it is mostly a smokescreen to put pressure on her and take it off the ones that really deserve it. I am trying to figure if seeing Russian from Alaska, which is true, is worse than saying 54 or 56 states or which ever number it was that was said!!

I agree people should keep their mouth shut and mind their own business and leave Sarah Palin out of it she is a fine lady.

Good for her. She's been verbally accosted for so long that I'm glad to see her finally get her day. All she wanted to do was help this country and the main stream media twisted things to make her out to look like a fool. She was never given a chance.

Just for the record, I'm not really a Sarah Palin fan as far as her politics go, but I definitely think she was crucified by the media unnecessarily.

the original post was not critical of Ms Palin writing a book. Just that she did. Yes there was sarcasm regarding the view of Russia from Alaska. Looking south, Californians can see Mexico too. But not all Californians or residents of Alaska can claim foreign policy experience because of their geographical location and the view it provides.
The people of Alaska - the majority until recently - praised her as their Governor. She deserved the praise. Only they can judge her performance. Those outside Alaska cannot. The GOP gave their weak presidential campaign a tremendous lift in bringing Palin to ignite a fire out of their smouldering ashes. It worked. For awhile. She became a media hit. Until her interview with Katie Couric She was out of her league and swimming with the sharks.
She stumped for the GOP and got bushwacked. Now she is getting paid to make speeches. But so far not even the GOP organizations have signed her to speak anywhere in the USA. Not the Conservative's either. The woman was used. Hope she makes the money necessary to help her with those legal battles. She will survive. You betcha!

Oreo-

Palin had about the same Foreign Policy experience as Obama did during the election. Of course, he has more now because he is the President but during the election, he had none.

As far as what you said about Palin being used, that is totally correct. Bashed by Dems and snubbed by the Republican elite, she seems to not fit in with either party. That is why she is gaining ground with Independents and those disenchanted with BOTH parties.

She, during her failed VP nomination and "speech" at the Repub Convention last year, reemed Pres. Obama for writing books about his life.

Pot meet kettle...she is still an idiot, and to me, has proven that she didn't have the intelligence or mettle to serve a full term as governor and honor her responsibilities in that role, without bailing out to make money for her own interests--legal bills, profits, etc.

If you had read his original book(not the new edition in it where he changed all the "really juicy stuff") you'd have been reeming him too! The fact that you have no concerns about him tell me that you have not. imo

None of the comments in the last two posts make no sense...I don't get my rocks off from poll numbers, I'm not a nutjob that harps on the roller coaster of public opinion...polls change like the weather, anything can happen.

As far as not having concerns about Pres. Obama, that would depend on the "concerns"--do I believe he is not U.S. born? NO! Do I believe he needs to focus troop exposure towards Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan? Yes!

My concerns differ from others--thankfully--if they are not like yours, what justification do you have in your reasoning to question mine? Makes no sense.

Back on topic--oh yea, Sarah is still an idiot...

Not to mention that the fact that the speech she gave at the Rep. National Convention brought in more viewers than BOs ridiculous, telepromter "speech" given at Invesco Field. You know, the one with the Greek Columns? GMAB!

Funny, when Bush was Pres. (no I was not a big fan of Bush either), the Dems quoted polls like scripture. Now that Obamas polls are tanking, they dont matter! GMAB! You cant have your cake and eat it too!
