I was taught to always respect your President even if you didn't vote for him. He is our leader and should not be bashed in public nor should adults use their children to be posters for their beliefs. I disagreed with Bush 945 of the time and could have voiced ugly remarks. Instead I voted for Clinton - twice! Then Bush Jr came in and once again I had to refrain from publicly being disrespectful but respectfully voiced by objections to his policies. Dissent is good if handled correctly. It's too bad too few Americans can understand and practice that.

Quote wannazach: OMFG!!! What to hell else are people gonna use to try and tear our country apart. NEWS FLASH!!! The song was sung about Bush too!!!!!!!!!!! And Clinton and Bush #1 and Reagan and ALL I repeat ALL the rest. Now why you think the linch mob didn't come out then after the Republican presidents? Could it be that only Conservatives enjoy this ridiculous behavor? It is sure looking that way. I for one am so sick of all this running around name calling and trying to divide the American people straight down political lines that I could puke. If all the time and energy spent on chasing ridiculous stories about the president was put to helping our country and fellow man it would be a much better world. It is purely shameful imo and I am ashamed for those so full of hate. I wish they would find a hobby that would not cause the turmoil that this does.

I didn't know that- where are the videos- do you have the links? can you post them here?

The title of this post seems to indicate the video is somehow President Obama's idea or he had some part in its creation. He had nothing to do with it.

Just to clear this up this is what I posted:

I realize that President Obama did not promote this you-tube video, and he shouldn't be held responsible, but the school that this was performed at should be held responsible.

Also I am not HATING Obama and I certainly don't wish any bad thing come his or his families way. I was just commenting that I felt that the teachers have no business trying to sway their students in any political manner.

Leave that to the college age kids..that have their own minds and are able to decifer what they believe in.

Obama's ideas about harmony have been around way before he entered the stage...and will be around clear after he leaves office (in 3 1/2 yrs hopefully)

Just because I don't agree with President Obama doesn't mean that I want him dead or anything bad happen to him.

Please don't anyone draw their own conclusions to what I meant.

And really I recall ALOT of people not agreeing with Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr. and talking very badly about them all. Obama is in a position that every other President was in and that comes with the territory. To say that people never challanged any other president is wrong.

Thank God we live in a Country where we can disagree/challange and not be imprisioned for it ...or worse.

since so many of you have stated the obvious so elequently, i will make my opinion short and sweet
stop concerning yourselves with a song, start worring about the important things, the 2 wars we shouldn't be in, making a decent living and affording the basics including healthcare, makking sure our children have a good future

Not saying the President should not be challenged - he should. Bush should have been challenged - if he were we wouldn't be in the mess we are now. The statement you quoted from my original post

" The title of this post seems to indicate the video is somehow President Obama's idea or he had some part in its creation. He had nothing to do with it."

is about the title you gave the thread.
Why call it OK seriously Mmm Barak Hussein Obama?
It seems to deliberatly indicate the President is somehow responsible for the songs. I guess I am just so used to watching the media misreprsent the facts or just leave some out to make their point that I assumed your title was an attempt to do the same.

Go to FOX News ( link below) and one of the parents discusses the other songs being sung about other Presidents. I doubt they are on Youtube.

No, you are correct. These are not all over youtube and the reason why is that the left wing did not go psycho like so many of the right wing have done. Right wingers are jumping on EVERY little breath that Obama takes trying to discredit and incorporate more hate for him than they already have. In 2006 a large group of school kids were flown by OUR tax dollars to stand outside the White House and sing their praises to Bush. Yes the song was about and contained Bush's name all through it. Did the left wing protest NOPE! When Reagan was president many schools were singing his praises in a song named "Hero". This song was calling him a hero and his every move heroic. Was that ok with everyone? NO but not hate mobs went after him on tv. This song was also sung by school children on the day of Reagans funeral at many schools. Now did anyone see it all over tv? Did parents flip out and start riots? Did they threaten principles and school boards? Did they keep their kids home in protest? Did they go on Fox News and call these Presidents names. Did they hop on boards like this and act like the President was the #1 enemy of our country. Did they turn their backs on our Comander and Cheif and compare him to a socialist. Did they trash his name in the manner they would our countries worst enemies. The answer is a big old "NO" they did not. In fact as proven in this thread it was considered so not a big deal that most never even knew it happened. That alone shows the vast difference in the way our current President is singled out for criticism. This speaks volumes of todays situation don't it? Vast difference in our country now. The only thing I see different is the political parties and how they are handling things.

But Andrea Ciemnolonski, the parent of another one of the students in the video, said the song was part of a second-grade project on a variety of topics related to the month of February, such as Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day and Presidents Day.

"They did songs about President Washington, Lincoln, and they did do one about President Obama," Ciemnolonski said. "My daughter was in the class that did the songs about Obama. It was black history month. ... It was something for the kids to celebrate."

Ciemnolonski said she "just can't look at it as indoctrination," though she added, "The comparisons made were a little exuberant."

The article is at the link above. The quote is directly from that article. One of the mom's states that students sang songs about other Presidents as well, typical elementary school stuff. Those didn't make it to youtube, I guess the reason this one did is because it can be used by the extremists in an attempt to prove "indoctrination". Maybe they should spend more time going after the drug dealers in and near our schools that actually do "indoctrinate".

These are the lyrics to the songs the children were being taught:
Song 1:
Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama

Song 2:

Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say "hooray!"
Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!
Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country's economy number one again!
Hooray Mr. President, we're really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!
So continue ---- Mr. President we know you'll do the trick
So here's a hearty hip-hooray ----
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!

I really don't understand the problem.

Just google "students sing in praise of obama nj" many sites will pop up just choose the Fox one. Or just read the quote I posted - it is from the article. (It was not a show but a story submitted by FOXNews.com's Cristina Corbin, Joshua Rhett Miller and FOX News' Michael Sorrentino.)
