Actress Mackenzie Phillips said in a memoir published on Wednesday that she had an incestuous affair for years with her father John Phillips, the late singer with 1960s band The Mamas & the Papas.

I started to watch Oprah today, but decided against it because I had a feeling that was what MacKenzie Phillips was going to divulge. It is very sad and sick beyond words!

I know I heard her mention this and the drugs all was going on when she was 12. I am not sure how long before that. Where was her mom? Was she in on this mess too?

That damn sick bastard! He turns her on to drugs as a pre-teen and then this! I'm surprised that poor woman has any mental faculties left. How she managed to turn her life around is beyond me given all the garbage she has experienced. He should have spent his life in jail instead of receiving all the accolades and riches he enjoyed. I'm speechless!

Its been so long I don't remember much- Who was her mother? It seems her dad always had custody of her- he was an abuser from day one- she was exposed to everything the seedy side of life had to offer--

Just read her mom was the first wife. Her name was Susan but I saw no mention of where she is now. She said that her dad even raped her the night before her wedding when she was 19. This and pumping the drugs in her makes me think she should have killed his a$$.

ITA!!! What I find interesting though is how her family members are split on this revelation. Her step-mom, Michelle Phillips, says she has a mental condition and has always been jealous of her other sibilings because they made something of themselves without drugs. She goes on, of course to say, he would never do this with his own child. Her half-sister, Chynna Phillips, believes her. John Phillips third wife, of course, says she's lying but her son with John Phillips says his family is and will always be a drepit bowl of dog urine.

I don't think these wives want to believe that they were married to such a sick SOB! Why would anyone come out, not only to admit having a incestuous relationship, but a consensual one up until she was 29!!! No one in their right mind would want the backlash from this revelation if it wasn't true.

Sure she was old enough to know what she was doing, but this was her father. The one person that should have protected her but instead used her; raped her and deprived her of any normalcy in her life.

Who knows? If this really happened, I feel very sorry for McKenzie, but there seems to be some disputes about this - -i.e, the ex-wife of John Phillips is speaking out about accusations he raped and had an incestuous affair with his daughter. In an interview with Roger Friedman published on Wednesday, Michelle Phillips claims her stepdaughter is lying about having a 10 year sexual relationship with The Mamas and the Papas star.

Some are claiming that she is still really into drugs and has done things like this in the past for another 15 minutes of fame.

I don't know - - there are so many lies and so many ways that people will go to in order to gain attention. I truly would like to believe this did not happen to her, but, if so, I feel very sorry for her.

Don't know why she chose to air this out for everybody? Were people already wondering about this? Were there existing rumors about her situation that she is clearing up? If not, then I am unsure why she would tell the whole world this.

Oh well - - that's just me - - don't take any sides unless I know it is in fact the truth.

I know Mackenzie has been on drugs for a long time and was recently busted in 2008...I'm just aghast at how a father can inject his 16/17 year old daughter with cocaine. So I'm catching up on the web, she was kicked off the show in 1981...she was born in 1959 so she would have been 22 at the time...she said her father was high and she was high on pills the night before her first marriage, she was 19 at the time...so my GOD, this nasty bastard raped her when she was still on the show, the night before her wedding...

So...she was taught by him how to roll joints at 10 or 11 years old...took cocaine from a cereal bowl that her father had filled to the brim...the father shot her up with cocaine at 16 or 17...at 18 she slept with Mick Jagger while her father was aware of it happening ...went on tour with the 'Mamas and Papas' strung out on drugs and waking up with her pants around her ankles and her dad laying beside her passed out...UGH! OMG!

I really don't know if I believe it! She is an actress afterall! I mean some of them like any kind of attn. and maybe she needs $$$ as I'm sure these interviews aren't free(or cheap)!! I just feel bad because if it's not true(wich I am leaning towards that) this poor man id s dead and can't even defnd himself. His wife and other members of the family are already disscrediting it.
