So many times I have read that when people don't like something, they ff or walk out of the room. To me there is no time to walk out of the room and my experience with ff is I always had to re-wind cuz in the blink of the eye the scenes change, so why bother? |

If I had just a nickel for every time someone says they ff through a certain character's scene or storyline, I would never have to work again! It must really be painful for them to watch to do that. I personally don't do it. The only thing I do is if there is an extremely violent scene on a movie, usually dealing with animal cruelty or brutal killing that I can see coming, I will just switch the channel for a second - - it is much easier. |

Yes it really happens...there are things I want to see, and for those I don't the FF button is the go-to for me not to waste my time watching something I don't want to. A lot of people do this, don't know why this would be perceived as not true. |

I still use the old DVR also. It is just too much trouble to ff because then have to go back again and rewind. Don't want to wear out my DVR, because don't think they are going to be selling them too much longer! |

We have ATT U-Verse. It works like TIVO. I FF though some of Jackie and Owen's love incounters. Just get tired of watching that eventhough I like both of them. |

I got the DVR through my cable provider. I love it because watching a movie, any movie on any channel, I can pause it just like you can if you had rented or taped a movie! I love that! I do FF through commercials on the soaps and often ff if they are doing flashbacks to scenes only a week or so old. (Ijust saw it, why do I have to see it again?) |

(Ijust saw it, why do I have to see it again?) we got ours thru DTV and it was a free upgrade, i love that pause feature, i love how you can record one show or the entire series, i always thought tivo and dvr's were pretty much the same thing |

With regard to having to back up if you FF too long, my DVR has three speeds for forwarding. If you hit the button once, it forwards slower, but if you hit the button 3 or 4 times, it moves much faster you you may overshoot your FF. I think there are quite a few people who rely on the good old FF button to get us past some of these ridiculous story lines. Thanks, Brad, you handsome hunk you! |

Don't want to wear out my DVR, because don't think they are going to be selling them too much longer! Now, the Tivo deal. I have heard so much about it and know it has been around for a while now, but are they as expensive as they used to be? Are they really worth it? Can you watch while recording and ff while recording? In other words, is it worth the money it cost? Just wondering - - maybe I'll break down and get one. Well, I'm not sure of the cost. I'm spoiled so my husband takes care of the cost. But I can't imagine not having it in the family room and in the bedroom. You can even play back a third show that you've already saved while two new shows are recording. You can also control live or recorded shows, use pause, rewind, fast forward, instant replay, and slow motion to control live or recorded shows. TiVo DVRs can: Pause live or recorded shows (live TV can stay paused for 30 minutes)Rewind (3 different speeds) It is well worth it! Look at it as an investment because you can spend more time with the kids. My grandkids can watch Oso and Mickey while I watch my favorite flicks at the same time. Then we spend quality time together on the piano or in the pool. You can pay for it with installments too. |

This is something I would love to have and will look into it. Probably wait until the economy gets better - - b/c social security doesn't allow too many luxuries - - but thanks again for the very informative information, KC. |

You're welcome. I totally understand. We're living off of hubby's pension and my CRUMMY salary. We've simply been blessed with the sense to cutback everything we used to do. No more nail visits, no more restaurants, no more spa treatments etc. LOL! |
