Hi guys. I hope I am not stepping in a landmine again accidentally here, but I just wanted to say I think you all are great. I've lost my mind at times and have always felt bad. It's easy to lose sight sometimes that you are talking to a real person, with real feelings. I think we all want a better world - we might just disagree on how to get there - that is all.

I love reading your discussions and as a Canadian, I do sometimes feel like an outsider. But I do find it interesting, as what goes on there, affects us here. And we are polarized on our own issues here in Canada, just in a different way.

Anyway, cheers to everyone. You guys are passionate and there is nothing wrong with that. I look forward to reading more of your debates and learning from you all.

There are certain words or phrases, or current stories that become front and center. Anyone who starts a thread referring to a contentious issue has to know it will stir up a lot of heat and not be surprised. Debate is good, personal attacks are what most of us object to.

In my observation, I have not seen every thread in the Lounge on current issues become argumentative. And I don't think everybody can foresee that when they open a thread it will become a debacle. That is why I have learned from the experiences of the last few days, that I don't want to be responsible for opening a can of worms.

In the meantime, I shall enjoy reading and learning from many of the posters, and there are quite a few, that can debate without personal attacks.

I truly hope this will be the case in the future.

I agree to disagree, but for the most part, I'm going to refrain from voicing my opinion as much as possible because both sides are NEVER going to budge, and I seriously doubt any post on these boards will change anyone's point of view. However, as some others have stated, I do like to read the political threads because many of then are very informative. I will continue to sit on my hands as much as possible....and will agree to disagree.

This thread was started with a good message. Lets keep this to the original topic and try and work things out between each other instead of causing more feuds.
