Quote lovesit: Ha, I was cooking and realized I said debate, went back here hoping I could edit...you all are fast tonight.
Anywho, I didn't mean debate. Obviously I was talking about speeches, debates, SOTUs, yada yada.

My point: to me, "liar" is just as disruptive as applause every minute, the intentions don't make it any easier to listen. And the other point was that no, I obviously don't agree with disruptions of any kind, especially childish ones.

BUT...Yelling "Boo" over and over (Dems to Bush in 2005 SOTU) IS the same as yelling "liar." You can't convince me this was some unprecedented event by Wilson. How can we all of a sudden make people accountable for their actions? Since the media caved in to money, there is no one anymore to hold these people up and say "Looky here what this one did" They (our reps) obviously (mostly) don't care how we think of them b.c there is no incentive to act right, or NONE of these people would be doing this.

Boo is not the same as calling your newly elected president a liar..... a liar insinuates that someone is not is not telling the truth...boo means you strongly disagree with something said or done......in other words...I say boooo to your post......but if I were to say...Lovesit you are a liar...that is saying you are not telling the truth....you see the difference now? how did you take it when I said boo to your post...how did you take it when I said lovesit is a liar????

this is an excellent point...how anyone can group these as the same makes no sense. i love the hypothetical example you gave too..that "someone" didn't seem to get as i look at the replies. it's a good thing you don't have your email listed on here b/c you might get a nasty gram anonymous email calling you names since boo'ing and calling someone a name is apparently grouped as the same.

Why are you insinuating I ever emailed you? I don’t even know how to look up someone’s email on here, nor do I want to. Even the people I like on here, let alone you, I would not email them – I’m not looking for pen pals. And yes, I "got it" the first time.
Also, to me as an audience member, booing and yelling achieve the same end – distracting me from trying to listen to a speech. Now if that means I am “equating” to anyone, I really don’t care. I’m not going to sit here and try to justify one over the other – that’s why these people are so used to being disruptive in the first place.

from "someone"

oh please. after the night i got on and said some things that got out of line with you, (the night i called you a follower) - it was curiously soon after that I got an email (b/c i had my email posted under "email me" - didn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out b/c it was exposed and i have since removed it b/c i now realize some people are not mentally stable) - it was an email completely hurling 5th grade level insults and also referring to me as obnoxious. that would be just too much of a coincidence for it NOT to have been you. it HAD to be someone from the board (since it referenced a thread) and i had just made you pretty angry by the tone of some of the posts. please.

Well, again I am grateful for all the attention I have been receiving from you today. I am also glad that you understand my limitations. That is the nicest thing anybody has said to me on this board. Wish I knew why I am getting all this attention from you - - but I love it.

And, thanks for the kiss. Us people that have to watch things in "slow motion" need all the loving we can get.

Actually, Sarah, I have had enough of this. As you can see from all of the above on this thread, I merely made a statement about Joe Wilson on the news last night and she started in on me. I kept trying to pacify her and this last insult regarding my limitations did me in. The same thing on the Acorn thread when I was kidding with my post and she came at me then. I do not know who this person is, except that she started this on me when I went into the Recipe thread and asked about the death of a poster there.

I do not know who gommie is, do not know why she is continuing this, but my patience has ended and I have contacted Administration.

However, thank you for giving me the benefit of a doubt that I may had some brain matter.

Maybe Obama did lie..I don't know, but ..he also said that those that have their current heathcare plan....nothing would change.( yeah right) That is not the truth ... he also said he will make people buy insurance like we have to for car insurance and it will be mandatory. ( not what he said in his campaign...Hillary said that and he adamently disagreed) SO his proposal that if you find yourself unemployed will have access to insurance, well you better have some $$ because if you don't have insurance you will be violating the LAW!

I really tried to see the big picture, I did, But there are still many loopholes in his plan....like just how is he going to fund his plan? Get rid of Gov. ...lol not likely!

He had me at hello and then lost me when he said that everyone in this country is required to purchase health insurance...except for those who can't afford it of course...then obviously the ones purchasing will be paying double for their coverage....which I am keenly aware that's what we are presently doing..

So my big question is ..... what BIG change is he proposing?

edited for a few typos

So many people are concerned - even those of us who are now on Medicare. I am paying an enormous amount of deductible and share of cost on some very expensive and numerous medical bills. My problem - with having to pay a large (combined) bill every month, I cannot afford to take that same amount and purchase supplemental insurance. Once one gets in a hole, there's no getting out. Supplemental insurance would have paid those soc's. So, even with insurance possibilities for all, soc's and deductibles will still probably be a problem, but thank God, at least they won't be obligated for the total bill - and cannot be refused. Joe Wilson needs to get a clue before he shoots off his mouth and makes a fool of himself.

Eppy ...really if I were you I wouldn't worry as much. Medicare Better improve under Obama's plan.

(or you may have voted for the wrong guy)

It's the (no offence) younger generation that will be taking care of Medicare patients ..just like it has been for a long time.

I do hope that Medicare treats you better....
Medicare is treating me great - I have no complaints except for the Shares of Cost. It's not Medicare who bills me the difference between what they cover and what providers charge. I look to the providers to make adjustments - which they very often do. It's just that I'm so poor - it's hard to turn all these payee soc charges around so I can get supplemental. Medical costs and charges are out the roof.

Hello again - - guess I still have some grey matter left. My first (original) post was on 9/9/09 - - and yes, I modified it twice for spelling, which I believe we are allowed to do. Your first post on this thread to me was on 9/11/09 (yesterday) where you very nicely told me to go back and watch the whole interview on Hannity, which I did.

There was an interesting point that was raised that the SC Republican GOP find it too painful to accept that the President is black or that there was even a possibility to elect a black even happened. Seemingly, this state is too entrenched in racial politics, and there were people in cafes saying that Wilson was right to say "you lie" but he showed bad manners...

How do you like that folks? Well-mannered racism...LOL...these people are sick in the head.

(edited too many times for misspellings...sorry, just crawled out of my bunker after Barack's speech)

Don't forget SC also has Governor Sanford. Everyone has asked him to resign but he won't do it. Now that is a story and a half there. If you have not heard about this man google it. It is good for laughs. And, absolutely racism is alive and well in the south. Anyone who says other wise can on down and I can show you 9 out of 10 people everywhere we go who don't like our president because of his color and color "only". I doubt they have even heard a word he speaks. He is black and that is all they need to know. I work with the public and rarely does a day go by that someone does not make a racist remark about Obama. At least half of them use the N word also. Makes me want to grab them and shake the sh!t out of them and try to shake in some intelligence. Probably wouldn't be worth my trouble though. You can't fix stupid...
