Obviously I was talking about speeches, debates, SOTUs, yada yada. My point: to me, "liar" is just as disruptive as applause every minute, the intentions don't make it any easier to listen. And the other point was that no, I obviously don't agree with disruptions of any kind, especially childish ones. BUT...Yelling "Boo" over and over (Dems to Bush in 2005 SOTU) IS the same as yelling "liar." You can't convince me this was some unprecedented event by Wilson. How can we all of a sudden make people accountable for their actions? Since the media caved in to money, there is no one anymore to hold these people up and say "Looky here what this one did" They (our reps) obviously (mostly) don't care how we think of them b.c there is no incentive to act right, or NONE of these people would be doing this. Boo is not the same as calling your newly elected president a liar..... a liar insinuates that someone is not is not telling the truth...boo means you strongly disagree with something said or done......in other words...I say boooo to your post......but if I were to say...Lovesit you are a liar...that is saying you are not telling the truth....you see the difference now? how did you take it when I said boo to your post...how did you take it when I said lovesit is a liar???? this is an excellent point...how anyone can group these as the same makes no sense. i love the hypothetical example you gave too..that "someone" didn't seem to get as i look at the replies. it's a good thing you don't have your email listed on here b/c you might get a nasty gram anonymous email calling you names since boo'ing and caling someone a name is apparently grouped as the same. oh really?..............then you are right....Im glad I didnt post my email.....hahhahahhaha...but I think I could take it! |

What's up with South Carolina? |

Quote OspreyGirl: What's up with South Carolina? Home of Strom Thurmond and this dummy Wilson... Interesting article: news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090911/pl_politico/27026 There was an interesting point that was raised that the SC Republican GOP find it too painful to accept that the President is black or that there was even a possibility to elect a black even happened. Seemingly, this state is too entrenched in racial politics, and there were people in cafes saying that Wilson was right to say "you lie" but he showed bad manners... How do you like that folks? Well-mannered racism...LOL...these people are sick in the head. (edited too many times for misspellings...sorry, just crawled out of my bunker after Barack's speech) Ah the ever loved race card is being pulled again...(sigh) I dont understand how we got to racism because the guy said the President lied... This arguement is old and tired and carries as much water as a bucket with a hole in the bottom.... |

Why are you insinuating I ever emailed you? I don’t even know how to look up someone’s email on here, nor do I want to. Even the people I like on here, let alone you, I would not email them – I’m not looking for pen pals. And yes, I "got it" the first time. Also, to me as an audience member, booing and yelling achieve the same end – distracting me from trying to listen to a speech. Now if that means I am “equating” to anyone, I really don’t care. I’m not going to sit here and try to justify one over the other – that’s why these people are so used to being disruptive in the first place. from "someone" |

I hear ya--South Carolina was almost blue last November, only by less than 10 points though, so who knows, maybe this Wilson goober has galvanized Dems from other states to move down there and take over...btw, he is a member of that group I mentioned above, quick fyi... I wonder if he will get censured or would that even matter...I was watching someone on the news last night, forget his name, but he said that Dems will probably let this die out soon while Repubs would keep something like this going on and on...who knows? |

Hello everyone, No articles, spoilers, bios or graphics can be posted without the express written consent of the copyright holder. Any full article can not be copied and pasted into the boards because that is a direct violation of the copyright guidelines. If it is see being done we will remove it from the boards with no warning. With that said, a quote is OK. If you put in quotes, Congressman Joe Wilson was quoted saying, "...." that is OK. However saying Congressman Joe Wilson said "...." followed by someone elses entire article discussing that quote isn't allowed. You have to put that into your own words when you post in here. I hope that the explanation above helps clear things up and not confuse them any more. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them for you. You dont know Joe Wilson, I dont either, but until you can provide a link that show where he made a racist statement you should not falsely accuse anyone of anything. that is you OPINION and the way you posted made it seem like a fact. Funny how libs preach about conservatives putting labels on people people when that was what YOUR post did... Trying to link Republicans to racists is an old liberal trick. The fact is that Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president signed the Emancipation Proclamation, Dr. Martin Luther King was a life long Republican and in the 50's and 60's it was mostly Democrats who opposed civil rights legislation. The Black Panthers and Nation of Islam are a rascist groups that are comprised of Democrats but I dont try to claim that Democrats are racist because some fringe groups hold that view. |

It is amazing to me the level of disrespect the office of President has. It started with Clinton imo. Carried over into Bush's term and now with Obama....just increasing and now adding the verbal element. Sad. |
