I wouldn't yell liar, but I would probably boo!

At your kid or the other?

I would only boo if the other kid did better then my kid, and was making her performance look bad. I would spit fire and stomp my feet if someone made more sense and was much better then my kid!!!

Why watch it? Because I can. And I heard Wilson was going to be on. And, I think I can criticize Hannity if people can criticize the president - - is that okay with you?

LOL!!! That's a good one plot!

What got me last night is that Obama called out the company that I have worked for for 20years and that's Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. Now don't get me wrong, I love Obama but I think he misrepresentd his point he was trying to make.

He stated the company has more than 90% of the market here in the state. We actually have 75% of the market. What he failed to mention is that there are over 300 providers of insurance in the state. People have choices but tend to choose BCBS of AL because of it's reliability and higher reimbursement of claims.

It is actually a selling point, if you will, to recruit a prospective employee if an company offers BCBS of AL.

I just think he should have disclosed all the facts and not make it seems like there is no other choice here.

Edited for typos!

Gosh Alabama BCBS must be a lot better than NC and Ga BCBS are. Here it costs the most and pays the least. Doctors and hospitals have quit even accepting it. I worked for an Orthopedic practice and they stopped taking it and it was what we employess had through them. The hospitals and doctors all said that Medicaid had always paid less than anything but BCBS had beat them out of that slot. The offices and hospitals would still take medicaid but not BCBS. My job was to schedule surgeries and make payment arrangements which meant I had to call the insurance company that the patient had and get info on deductables an how much they would pay. As example a hip replacement was $5000. Of this $5000 the doctors would recieve aproximately $2800. A carple tunnel surgery was $2800 we were lucky to get $1750 from BCBS. Medical staff and hospitals were losing their butts with BCBS so they had to stop it.

The 90% that Obama spoke of did not come from him. It was on the news last week that 89% of Alabama had the same insurance. All I know is that here any company pays better than them. Before the office quit taking BCBS they tried to renegotiate payment but BCBS refused. That same day they dropped them as a provider and also dropped them as a carrier to us employees. I was amazed every time I delt with them at how little they got by with paying. I hope it is a lot better there.

Hey Wanna~

You know each BCBS is a separate entity and each operate differently. Here in Alabama it is considered the "Mercedes" of insurance. Premiums are pricey but people are willing to pay for because of the coverage and just about every provider here take it.

I really think this healthcare reform has moved away from true reform. It really need the input from all: pharmaceutical companies, doctors, hospitals and insurance companies. True reform is a trickle down effect.

Why on earth would we enlist the advice/input of pharm companies and ins companies? Pharm companies are aged hippies who found a legal way to get high and realized they are the "man" and want to keep their money and their drugs. Ins companies are into deny deny deny. Get the lobbyists involved and you have mayhem. Keep the special interests out. Let congress do its job.

And let me just say "trickle down" gives me the heebie jeebies. All I can think of is a retirement home and people in depends that are very very full.

Of course I'm not equating them. I was just saying that all of the applause was every bit as distracting to me as the "liar" yell. I also said that no, this is not the first time there has been a plethora of applause.

Also, I would never stand up and applause every 30 seconds. Of course applause here and there is normal, but no, again, I would never stand and applause as much as I saw at my kid's play. Thats just distracting to kids and annoying to adults who are trying to listen.
But thats not the point here. The point is that these people are flat out used to being disruptive, and every time the media treats it as if this has never been done before. They warp it to suit their party.

Quote raving:
Quote lovesit: Ha, I was cooking and realized I said debate, went back here hoping I could edit...you all are fast tonight.
Anywho, I didn't mean debate. Obviously I was talking about speeches, debates, SOTUs, yada yada.

My point: to me, "liar" is just as disruptive as applause every minute, the intentions don't make it any easier to listen. And the other point was that no, I obviously don't agree with disruptions of any kind, especially childish ones.

BUT...Yelling "Boo" over and over (Dems to Bush in 2005 SOTU) IS the same as yelling "liar." You can't convince me this was some unprecedented event by Wilson. How can we all of a sudden make people accountable for their actions? Since the media caved in to money, there is no one anymore to hold these people up and say "Looky here what this one did" They (our reps) obviously (mostly) don't care how we think of them b.c there is no incentive to act right, or NONE of these people would be doing this.

Boo is not the same as calling your newly elected president a liar..... a liar insinuates that someone is not is not telling the truth...boo means you strongly disagree with something said or done......in other words...I say boooo to your post......but if I were to say...Lovesit you are a liar...that is saying you are not telling the truth....you see the difference now? how did you take it when I said boo to your post...how did you take it when I said lovesit is a liar????

this is an excellent point...how anyone can group these as the same makes no sense. i love the hypothetical example you gave too..that "someone" didn't seem to get as i look at the replies. it's a good thing you don't have your email listed on here b/c you might get a nasty gram anonymous email calling you names since boo'ing and calling someone a name is apparently grouped as the same.
