Thank you for cutting and pasting - I could not see the entire web addy in your post. Some people here (like myself) on the board aren't so knowledgeble as to not need some assistance in the information process... I may agree or disagree after I have read the information for myself. While we realize cut/paste copyrighted material isn't to be posted, is stating a Mission Statement a copyright infringement?

not sure eppy. perhaps admin can help clear that one up. I would like to stay within guidelines myself.

We are usually not allowed to cut and paste....we can post a link. However, in the lounge, it has appeared to be pretty much a different world from the other boards....anything tends to go with admin unless things get really heated.

Posting a link is the recommended way of passing on information, but in this case, the entire link was not available - anyway, I'm sure the mods can clear this up for us once and for all and identify what naterial is and is not C/P allowed.

I hope that is the situation, Plot, because there have been many times that I will read something (but not via an email) and want to post it. However, trying to put something in my own words, that is long, yet informative, can be a pain in the arz - - so I usually just forget it.

But, you know, in the Recipe thread, I know it is okay to copy a recipe and then post it, right? Why not in these other threads?

Hope administration can help us out here - - it sure would be a help.

Question: Should Wilson be punished? If so, what do you recommend should be the punishment?

My ex-Marine flared up after I heard that outburst...lol...I looked over at my hubby and said, "Man, I wish I was in the Secret Service right now..." What I said after that, I will not post...lol...

Front & Center... Guess Which Hopey-Changer Interrupted Bush's Speech in 2006?

Geez the Republicans didn't punish the Democrats for interrupting Bush's speech....get over it and dry up those crybaby tears!

//gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/09/front-center-guess-

which-hopey-changer.html

In 2006, Congressional Democrats wildly cheered their own intransigence, obstruction, and reverence for the broken status quo.

Democrats rudely interrupted President Bush to applaud their own obstruction of legislation to fix Social Security:

Today Social Security is bankrupt and could face default in 2 years.

And, guess who was up front and center: Obambi himself

Congressman Wilson behaved like a bratty child that can not stop himself from shouting out in class. He seems to have a big problem with government run health care but check out this Newsweek article.
blog.newsweek.com/blogs/thegaggle/archive/2009/09/10/joe-wilson-s-dirty-health-c... />

His campaign website has this message posted JOE WILSON IS PASSIONATE ABOUT STOPPING GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE!

Except that he's not─at least not when it comes to his, and his family's, government-run health care. As a retired Army National Guard colonel, Wilson gets a lot of benefits (one of which, apparently, was not a full appreciation of the customs, traditions, and courtesies that mandate respect for one's commander in chief). And with four sons in the armed services, the entire Wilson brood has enjoyed multiple generations of free military medical coverage, known as TRICARE.
Yes, it's true. As politicos and town-hall criers debate the finer points of the public option, employer mandates, coverage for undocumented immigrants, and who's more Hitler-like, they seem to miss a larger point: the United States has single-payer health care. It covers 9.5 million active-duty servicemen and women, military retirees, and their dependents─including almost a 10th of all Californians and Floridians, and nearly a quarter of a million residents of Wilson's home state.

Quote Longhornsfan79: Perhaps Mr. Wilson could have curbed his enthusiasm a bit however, the fact remains the Presidents speech was full of falsities. This is supported by the LEFT leaning website factcheck.org. I have provided the link below.

www.factcheck.org/2009/07/obamas-health-care-news-conference/

That is not entirely accurate. Everyone should read the article themselves and checkout the last paragraph as well.
Overall, Obama got good marks for clarity and accuracy from at least one expert who’s sometimes been critical. John Sheils, senior vice president of the Lewin Group, which has analyzed the House bill and health care proposals, told us that there was “a lot of stuff you could quibble with” in the president’s speech, but overall he was “impressed” with the way Obama explained a “hugely complicated issue.” “I think in the main of it, I think he did pretty well.”

Then check out their opinion of the Republican response.

Food for thought! The VA Medical system is a government run social healthcare program! It's underfunded and who do they turn away! Oh...and who dies?

As for illegal aliens, they are not authorized healthcare under any condition now, but they get it anyway, because public hospitals cannot turn away the indigent and the poor! It sounded like a tap dance to me!

My students (seniors) were totally put off by what Mr. Wilson did to President Obama. Even the most conservative of students said that it was rude and disrespectful....out of the mouths of babes...
He is a terrible example, and totally took the light off of the republican response to the President's message. The kids said that all the blogs and twitters they were on were talking about the incident. They have enough decorum to say, "I can't repeat what they called that man."

Other presidents have been "booed" but it seems that none has ever been disrespected and denigrated to this extent; none has ever been told that "he lied".

No matter what your political affiliation or belief, we should all be appalled and disgusted by this rudeness!

I just heard on a newscast that his opponent received $400,000.00 since he made that remark last night.

Actually under Bush, a lot of the VA Hospitals were privitized and run by private corporations...it's what caused the problems at Walter Reade.

I think that Wilson did a big old favor for the state of SC. Between the end of Obamas speech and daylight this morning Wilson's opponent for his seat received "3000" donations to his campaign. These donations came in from BOTH the right and the left. There was a total of $100,000 in one night sent to the dem who WILL be taking Wilson's job come elction day. Thanks Wilson!
