H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS

Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

Also, under current law, those in the country illegally don’t qualify for federal health programs.

Quote calliope: I am so tired of partisan crap! It's like if you are Republican you have to dislike everything about the bill, if you are Democrat, Obama is God and the bill is perfect. It is far from perfect....why don't the dissenters sit down and put all the ideas together? If Joe Wilson thinks he's lying, show us why and how he is lying!
I just don't get why grown, educated people cannot get together, regardless of party, to come up with a solution for the good of the American people.
They all drive me nuts!

because most of them are NOT grown, educated maybe, but still acting like children. Congressman Wilson, in his "apology?" said he was acting under emotion - -wow, now that is really "adult" - - And these are our leaders?

I live in Palm Beach county FL. My area is full of Guatemaulen illegals. Fl spent over 2 billion dollars for health care and education of illegal immigrants in 2007. Someone is paying for their health care. The docs aren't doing it for free.
Now, I am all for these families being taken care of when they are sick but when citizens who work and pay taxes, like my son with Leukemia, cannot afford a health care plan something is wrong.

Unfortunately they are. What I've found humorous over these past months is that the President asked them to work amongst themselves to come up with health care reform proposals as a way to show that he wants to work with everyone on the Hill and allow our elected officials the leverage to DO THEIR JOBS, reach out to us, etc---but unfortunately, many of these officials took it upon themselves to discount our need for fair discourse and puff out their peacock feathers to serve their own political agendas through controversy....

Did we have intelligent and informative town hall meetings across this country without lunatic fringes shouting down everyone? No!

We got what we saw, and considering the hysteria that came out of this, I think for voters, this has given us an opportunity to glimpse the true character of our elected officials---do they really care about us or are they pushing scare tactics/talking points to keep you from thinking?

I hear that Wilson's Democractic opponent, Joe Miller, just got a $200,000 boost in fundraising! LOL

AboutOur Mission

We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. We monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews and news releases. Our goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding.

The Annenberg Political Fact Check is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. The APPC was established by publisher and philanthropist Walter Annenberg in 1994 to create a community of scholars within the University of Pennsylvania that would address public policy issues at the local, state and federal levels.

The APPC accepts NO funding from business corporations, labor unions, political parties, lobbying organizations or individuals. It is funded primarily by the Annenberg Foundation.

What is it that is that is so unreliable about them?

It seems the state of Florida picked up that tab, not the federal government.

States have their own treasuries and budgets, and most have the autonomy to make those kinds of decisions. In addition, there are non profits who may offer roadside health services or give supplies out like socks, blankets, food, etc.

Beyond reaching out to state officials, researching the budget and the policies that pass into law is an eye opening experience...

I already read that - - you did not have to cut and paste it for me or anybody. I personally do not find them reliable - - and that's that for me. No arguments from me.

That is what I have been saying! He tasked them to come up with something. He gave them a directive. He is telling them do it or I will have to and these are my thoughts. This is what I want covered....these are your parameters.

How funny that they have not done anything.

You are kidding me, right? All this time on the board I have tried to put things in my own words and all this time we are allowed to copy and paste? I really had no idea. I just thought the guidelines paragraph:

"You must have copyright ownership of all material that you post on our message boards. No articles, spoilers, bios or graphics can be posted without the express written consent of the copyright holder. Please transfer any articles or spoilers into your own words before you post

I wish I had know this a long time ago.

Okay, IMHO, I always used that site in the past. Thought it was great. Recently, I have found it has become much too political for me. If you really read all their articles, etc., you can see that they research all their opinions, etc., and at times will come back with a different opinion - - and I just don't feel all their research is reliable.

So, to each his own, okay?

Thank you for cutting and pasting - I could not see the entire web addy in your post. Some people here (like myself) on the board aren't so knowledgeble as to not need some assistance in the information process... I may agree or disagree after I have read the information for myself. While we realize cut/paste copyrighted material isn't to be posted, is stating a Mission Statement a copyright infringement?

Sure, Im not being smart-alec or anything. Thanks for you opinion! I honestly like to hear others views on various subjects. Even though I might not agree sometimes, its still good to know whats on the other side of the coin!

That goes for all that have a differing opinion than I do. I dont believe in personal attacks. I have friends who are conservative, liberal, white, black, straight, gay whatever! Even though I have a different opinion than they do, I would never attack them personally for their opinion. So, if I have a disagree with someone on a subject just know that it is not personal. I love to debate and sometimes get passionate about my opinions but I always try to remain civil!

Hope all of you out there have a good day!
