No, it doesn't take rocket science to see that link, but I never looked for it before b/c I have never had the urge to email anyone. Besides, I may not know you personally, but I know you enough to know it would do no good if I wanted to tell you what I really think of you. If someone emailed you a nasty email, forward it to admin or do something productive about it. Falsely accusing someone will get you nowhere. Now please quit posting about me to other people, you're supposed to be a grownup. But, if you feel yourself resorting to your adolescent roots, please remember my name is lovesit, not "the follower" or "someone" or "she who has no backbone." I don't call you "the one who missed the popular bus in grade school and now must compensate by being the mean girl." How about staying on topic instead of instigating? If you legitimately thought I emailed you, you should have asked me whenever you got it - since you missed that boat you need to drop it or go to admin. Hello pot...meet kettle. Guess what? Your black. And this would pertain to... Telling her that she is imature and instigating when you just did the same thing lol. And it is not racist PP....it is a saying the pot calling the kettle black. It pertains to cast iron. And what could that saying possibly have to do with what we were discussing????? It had nothing to do with you. It was a reply to Lovetit. You chose to stick your nose into it so that is why I responded to you. You need to get a life, instead of trying to insult other posters. Your "gang" will not stop the truth from coming out. |
Plot-Twister![]() |
pp I did not insult anyone. I was just telling someone who professes not to insult that they were being insulting. So, if you stop bringing it up, that portion of the thread will be over. |

Does this gang have those cool leather jackets? I always wanted to be in one of those. Is there an initiation? |

Uhhhhh - - has anyone ever been sorry they started a thread? I sure am, and the same goes for the Acorn thread. |

Don't put words in my mouth. You have enough trouble forming them in your own. |
Plot-Twister![]() |
You are truely an inspiration pp...and it is true...I do have problems forming words on my own. My vocal cords have been damaged for years and I cannot talk. I can write though. Excuse me for not being as intelligent as you are. I am very sorry that I got involved in your fight. You win. I defer to your wisdom and your age. Boy, you put me in my place. From no on I know where to go when I want the truth....just find pp. |

Don't dish it out to others if you can't take it. There is no fight, winner, loser...........we are discussing topics. Maybe to you it is a game. To each his own...... |

Quote Peppermint Patty: Quote sarahconnor: Quote wannazach: Quote OspreyGirl: What's up with South Carolina? Home of Strom Thurmond and this dummy Wilson... Interesting article: news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090911/pl_politico/27026 There was an interesting point that was raised that the SC Republican GOP find it too painful to accept that the President is black or that there was even a possibility to elect a black even happened. Seemingly, this state is too entrenched in racial politics, and there were people in cafes saying that Wilson was right to say "you lie" but he showed bad manners... How do you like that folks? Well-mannered racism...LOL...these people are sick in the head. (edited too many times for misspellings...sorry, just crawled out of my bunker after Barack's speech) Don't forget SC also has Governor Sanford. Everyone has asked him to resign but he won't do it. Now that is a story and a half there. If you have not heard about this man google it. i know it's alive and well b/c i see it too and it makes me sick. i honestly feel he's being picked on more than any other president b/c of it. i have not seen a dem or republican president picked on this much. i feel really disgusted b/c of it. if you don't like an idea then fine..say so. don't call him names. i didn't even start to call bush a moron until after the fact. after i saw enough bad ideas blaze through. look at some of the pictures and very disrespectful portrayals of him seen. and i don't care what anyone says..the rebel flag should only be in a museum to remind us of how we were ignorant. it makes me sick to see it on trucks, cars - displayed on the windows of homes. that flag is linked directly to racism. that's all i see when i see it...hate. The confederate flag (rebel flag) has nothing to do with racism. It is the proud heritage of the south. The civil war was not fought over slavery. It was fought over commerce and taxes. Lincoln knew that the war was being lost by the union and that the nation would never survive if split apart. He added the issue of slavery to the war to bring it to a close. In fact, many union commanders and leaders owned slaves, along with many other northerners. Again the rebel flag was NOT a symbol of slavery. It was a symbol of states rights. Read the original history of our country....not the slanted history books that our children are learning from today. are you saying history is not correct as it is taught today? the civil flag represents SLAVERY..the CIVIL war had to do with CIVIL rights and the the south thought owning slaves was a CIVIL right. rebel flag = a symbol of slavery and hate. |

Quote raving: By around 1862 or so, the South seceeded from the Union, which started the Civil War. At that time, slavery was the center issue of all of this, if not one of the biggest issues. Black people were treated as nothing more than property. They were by law not allowed to read, write, or even marry. If the South were to win the Civil War, black people were to remain slaves for years, if not decades to come. you are saying PP that this is false? and that this is the slanted view point of history books in todays schools???...wonder how they got it so wrong....all those dumb historians! lol i know right? or maybe the ones she read from were etched in stone. |
Peppermint P...![]() |
No, the civil war had to do with the manufacturing of good, taxation on those goods and the ability to sell the raw materials to whoever they wanted. States rights. |

PP can I ask what state you live in? Just curious as it seems that things are looked upon differently where you are. Are you here in the South or in the North? |
Peppermint P...![]() |
How can they be looked on differently? |
sarahconnor![]() |
the CIVIL war was about SLAVERY. the south made their money on agriculture...cotton, crops etc. these made the masters of plantations rich...it was cost effective for them to depend on slaves. sadly many in those days believed people of another color were inferior. slavery was not necessary for economy for the north. they prospered without it. true some had slaves up there but for the most part it was not agreed upon. the south depended on slaves. eventually we had slave states and non slave states - with the expanding west, a wall was hit on whether states should be slave or non slave states. both sides would not back down when ONE was clearly WRONG. there were movements coming about that wanted to abolish slavery all together..with all of this stress, the southern states finally decided to leave the union entirely as the problems were not being resolved |

Quote Peppermint Patty: How can they be looked on differently? I was born in Illinois. Now live in Florida. It is looked on very differently in different regions of the country. The south seems to be more racist to me but that is jmo from the people I see every day. I think is all started with the segregation and such. Also these opinions are handed down from generation to generation. I went from elementary school through high school without one single classmate who was not white. Maybe that makes some people less tolerant. I am not sure. Thankfully though the worst vocal racists I see now are older people. I hope that means that the younger generation has got it together and knows right from wrong. I think that is why Obama did so good with young people in the election. It is a long way from being over but at least there is progress. |
