Regardless of what party and how you feel about the President's speech tonight, for a Congressman to yell out "You Lie" to the President of the United States is inexcusable. |

He represents the best of the worst of America. |

I agree it wasn't the time to disagree, but then again maybe it was....it certainly got the attention of everyone and maybe he had a point? |

Quote rei1: I agree it wasn't the time to disagree, but then again maybe it was....it certainly got the attention of everyone and maybe he had a point? So many people are concerned - even those of us who are now on Medicare. I am paying an enormous amount of deductible and share of cost on some very expensive and numerous medical bills. My problem - with having to pay a large (combined) bill every month, I cannot afford to take that same amount and purchase supplemental insurance. Once one gets in a hole, there's no getting out. Supplemental insurance would have paid those soc's. So, even with insurance possibilities for all, soc's and deductibles will still probably be a problem, but thank God, at least they won't be obligated for the total bill - and cannot be refused. Joe Wilson needs to get a clue before he shoots off his mouth and makes a fool of himself.
Maybe Obama did lie..I don't know, but ..he also said that those that have their current heathcare plan....nothing would change.( yeah right) That is not the truth ... he also said he will make people buy insurance like we have to for car insurance and it will be mandatory. ( not what he said in his campaign...Hillary said that and he adamently disagreed) SO his proposal that if you find yourself unemployed will have access to insurance, well you better have some $$ because if you don't have insurance you will be violating the LAW! hmmmm.. I really tried to see the big picture, I did, But there are still many loopholes in his plan....like just how is he going to fund his plan? Get rid of Gov. ...lol not likely! He had me at hello and then lost me when he said that everyone in this country is required to purchase health insurance...except for those who can't afford it of course...then obviously the ones purchasing will be paying double for their coverage....which I am keenly aware that's what we are presently doing.. So my big question is ..... what BIG change is he proposing? edited for a few typos |

I do hope that Medicare treats you better.... |

Joe Wilson...Joke. But, he apologized, and what is done is done. He will go down in history as "Johnny pulled a Joe Wilson today". |

Quote OspreyGirl: He represents the best of the worst of America. No matter how much Dems reviled Pres. Bush, I can't recall not one of them in the 8 years he served as president, yell out during his speech and say something like that. If I'm wrong, then show me proof...otherwise, Wilson and every j@ck@ss like him can go straight to hell. Try 2005, Bush’s State of the Union. They are all stupid and need to use a better avenue. |

We won't be around! |

Quote Plot-Twister: Joe Wilson...Joke. But, he apologized, and what is done is done. He will go down in history as "Johnny pulled a Joe Wilson today". REI - There is no bill. This is a discussion period. The president has tasked congress with coming up with a plan that includes the things he wants in it. He has ideas. He has thoughts. He laid that all out last night. He also said that he is willing to listen to any and all ideas from any party, any person that would accomplish those goals without going with a public option. With that said, I am interested in what congress will come up with. I understand that he wants people to be able to keep their current insurance if they choose, but if there is private option and everyone is required to have it I can see employers dropping it and making it (the insurance) like auto insurance. I think the companies will have to have some sort of incentive to keep the benefits offered. Also, I was suprised to see that for a call for bipartisanship not one republican is on the committees that Obama talked about last night. I was not able to watch the entire thing, only heard some of it and some spin this am, so if someone can fill me in, please do. But, I take it day by day. Change is inevitable and difficult. There is nothing being signed right now, just a plan being put together. Just to mention, I started this thread because I was so angry at that outburst, and when I went to bed last night, after the speech, he had not apologized yet. Did he do it on camera as he did his oral antics last night? |

The "apology" was not done on camera...he called Rahm Emanuel and he also posted his apology on his webpage. |

Quote KC11: It's just one more entry to document in the history books. The more President Barack Obama endures the more many will admire him for later. He is the most calm and collected President that I've seen in my 50+ years. This is what many admire about him yet it's what others dislike about him. His composure is simply uncanny. The drawings, the outburst, the shock value... all bounces off of President Obama like ping pong balls. Yes grace in the midst of chaos...he is quite classy! |

Perhaps Mr. Wilson could have curbed his enthusiasm a bit however, the fact remains the Presidents speech was full of falsities. This is supported by the LEFT leaning website factcheck.org. I have provided the link below. |

I am so tired of partisan crap! It's like if you are Republican you have to dislike everything about the bill, if you are Democrat, Obama is God and the bill is perfect. It is far from perfect....why don't the dissenters sit down and put all the ideas together? If Joe Wilson thinks he's lying, show us why and how he is lying! I just don't get why grown, educated people cannot get together, regardless of party, to come up with a solution for the good of the American people. They all drive me nuts! |
