Quote Tammer: What kind of quality time can each of those children share with their parents? I mean She barely has enough time to ween a child and she is having another. What about personal one on one time? There isn't any at all. All the older girls she had makes it easier to have all these babies. If most of her children were older boys, you can bet your butt she wouldn't have had all these kids. Those girls are like little soldiers...sorry if it's harsh but again that's my personal opinion. I just want to add that I think they seem like wonderful people, very kind, honest and strong values..I just think enough was enough 9 children ago. When the older boy got married (on the shows leading up to it) his wife and he admited they had never even kissed each other before they said I do! That imo is a bit much!! But to each there own I guess!! |

When "religious mandates" are that influential to take over someone's reproductive rights, then that is a problem. I understand the notion that kids are a blessing from God..great, wonderful! BUT, to subject a woman to multiple births like that goes well beyond the realm of anything holy or even moral. Some of these religious offshoots of Christianity are so entrenched with man-made rules and traditions that it warps people into living in situations that are not healthy (spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally)--for the parents and/or the kids. Most of those Duggar kids are KIDS and it's unfair to thrust them into instant care takers and parenthood. Everytime a child takes a breath in that house, they get another announcement a new baby is coming....GOOD GRIEF! |

Everytime a child takes a breath in that house, they get another announcement a new baby is coming....GOOD GRIEF! It's like these parents are giving birth to babysitters. I highly doubt that all 18 kids are receiving enough attention from their parents...it's just not possible, there are not enough hours in the day...these kids are raising themselves and each other, and are subjected to live in that house of "horny/holy." I don't care if they are learning to teach blind kids how to read, are all vegans, and feed the poor on Thanksgiving---this family dynamic, IMO, is warped and unhealthy. Saying they are better than Octomom or the Gosselins just because the Duggars throw around the words "God, faith, family" doesn't make their situation exempt from being a poor examples of parenthood who need to take control of their reproductive abilities and live within their means...and NOT the means of a television network that shoves checks into their hands to showcase this craziness for the world to see... ********************************************** Excellent, Osprey Girl, It makes my heart hurt for those children, no way can they get the love and attention that they so deserve...they may be getting it, but not from their parents, no way is that possible... |

I was raised in a religion that forbade birth control and I am the youngest of seven. My mother said she and my father practiced restraint because they did not want more children than they could handle. It would seem that the Duggar's are a good family and they are able to raise and provide for the children. And I don't think there is anything wrong with them homeschooling. If I have only one child I plan to homeschool. |

I would say it is none of my business, but they put themselves out there for everyone to watch and judge, so that changes thing. My concern is for the kids. They are being completely robbed of their childhood. I simply don't see how it is possible for the kids to get that attention and special feeling from their parents that children crave. If she wants to wreck her body and put herself in an early grave, that's her decision, but I find it hard to believe that many of the kids aren't going to be left with a bitter taste in their mouth. We'll see I guess. Each to his own, but I can't stand to watch this show. Someone said they don't believe in birth control, and I don't mean the following to be gross or crass, but does this mean they can't do the "withdrawal method" at the very least??? Or attempt to time when they do it so she is not ovulating? Or is that against their religion too? |

Yeah the Duggars on their next epsode on TLC airs Tuesday. It is going to be all about adding square footage to their home. As they are wanting to have more space in their home....Probably they are doing this so some of the older children can have their own bedroom. I would not blam them one bit.... |

Jon and Kate plus 8 are trying harder every day to make their marriage work at least Jim Bob wants to stay with Michelle. Jon brought Halliey in to their home one day and Kate said to Jon no way I do not want my kids to see that you are datting somebody else. At least Kate does not want any body else in her home. Jon if you want Hailley in your home/condo go right ahead but not to Kate she is trying not to cry in front of her children..... Jon is a douche, I feel sorry for Kate. |

On the epsode they made a patio and a basketball court for the children. Then later in the show they made a superslide part with household soup (like don't they have bubbles?) and then they wore skirts.... |
