Yes, she has been reunited with her mother- the mother and step-father divorced sometime after the kidnapping-the step-father was under suspicion for years- b/c he was the last one to see her alive- he had ridden his bike to the bus stop with her- as they stood there the kidnappers drove by and literally snatched her up - the step-father says he chased them on his bike- but when they went up a steep hill
he became winded and unable to follow them- he then began screaming for neighbors to cal 911-- sounds a little bit mysterious to me-----but that has been his story all along--

I feel the same Gommie. I am still not ready to let the step dad off the hook. The whole thing just seems suspicious. Hope her and the kids are doing ok mentaly as well as physically.

Yep Wanna -it's all just a little bit too convenient for me--I don't think any of them will ever be normal- God only knows what they have endured-I doubt her 15 year old daughter escaped their filthy hands-

I didn't hear their ages. I had no idea one was 15. Do you know how far away they were living from her home?

Girl is 15 and I think a boy 11??????????

Terrible situation for sure.

Goomie I agree they won't get what they deserve. Whatever their punishment is, I am certain their jail cell will be more accommodating than the living conditions she & those two children dealt with...I cannot even imagine. They didn't kill anyone (that we know of) but these two evil souls robbed this young girl -& the two children she bore - of their right to ever lead a normal, healthy life so put them to death, lock them up forever - whatever - just get remove their twisted souls from the rest of society.

you got that right EJ..although I am against the death penality..I do think that these people (if they did what they did) deserve a cot so thin in prison that they feel the springs and no TV viewing, no college classes to "improve" their lives and absolutley NO chance of parole....he was already a convicted Sex offender...how very convienent that he already proposed that he is a changed man....changed my ass he just got caught....

(edited for spelling caught as cought....I thought that looked wierd, but I hit send too quickly..LOL)

Exactly ej- She's still breathing but they killed her all the same- she will never be normal- the memories of what she went through will be with her forever-she will never know what its like to live a normal life- knowing that the predators will never pay the price for what they have done-will only make her feel less important if possible-

The abductor has a printing businesss in Antioc Calif. and is described as a religious zealot - can you imagine? He prowls the Berkley Campus (prob Stanford) with religious reading material and bursts into song at any given moment. He has been on lifetime parole for a former rape, but was released in 1988. People cannot imagine how the parole department was not aware of what was going on with this A$$hole.

I wonder how she finally got away? I'm sure she must have been terrified to go off the premises...she is one brave person....maybe she had stolkholm syndrome...but finially saw that is was not right for her kids to grow up that way...or maybe the abductors (pedohiles) finally made their move on her children...

since she was only 11 and kept captive in very primitive dwellings..I wonder if she matured intellectually, but without proper guidence how can that happen? I just wonder about that....

....BUT there is no need to provide luxuries (sp) for heinous crimes. I also don't want others to kill for revenge..and I will never celebrate that. Self defence is one thing....

I just believe that if one kills (with the exception of self defence) they are writing their own ticket to HELL ..and from what I believe I hope that all killers redeem themselves while they still can. Hell is not a destination anyone wants to find themselves in.

I agree with you on that, but still a squeaky cot with a thin covering is sufficient. No other luxeries ...man cannot live without water and a few squares a day. ( there are many people that don't even have that and they are not criminals)

No long trial period and absolutly no appeal....if this woman can identify without question who her abductors are that should be a clean cut case....end of story!

Apparently he was asking permission from the campus police to pass out his literature- the two kids were with him and the campus police got suspicious of the relationship and contacted someone to run a check on him, something like that- it was discovered that he was on parole- he was taken in for questioning at some point and confessed to the kidnapping? ??

I think the news said when he went in for questioning he had the wife and the kids with him..

Well the bottom line is that he was BUSTED! I hope that this is not a drawn out case, especially if his captive has proof and give her and her children the respect that they deserve....no need to drag this out..especially for the sake of the woman and her children. That would be horrible to them.

There is a case here in CT that two men invaded a home and raped a mother and her daughter, beat the father and lit fire to the house...the mother and her two daughters ( one was spared the rape)..died in the home, the father is the sole survivor. Well that happend two years ago and the trial is still ongoing...Lawyers for the criminals are dragging this case out for all it's worth to them, meanwhile the father is going through a living hell. It seems that the criminals are given so many rights for pleading and trying to lessen their sentances..that seems to be more important to the lawyers than the feelings of this poor man that lost his family..
