(((Hugs))) to all of u who have lost pets they are important parts of our lives and it is hearkbreaking when they pass away. Sadly I have had to have put three very loved dogs down over the course of my life. There is nothing worse than holding onto pets when they are failing they have no voice to express their pain. I loved my pets dearly as I know all of u did they will always hold special places in our hearts. |

We are all coping well...my little sister was a wreck. That is just as hard to deal with as our loss of Kye. My step dad and mom have decided to get another dog..I think that is a good idea. I think it will keep Kye's memory alive in a positive way and we will not dwell on the sadness..if that makes sense. |

I think this is a great thread. Not everyone can understand the hurt that comes with the losing a pet and I am so thankful I have the support of all of you. It means the world that there are people who get it. I don't have children and I'm not sure if that is my path in life, but I know how much I love and cherish my pets and some people just don't get that...I thank you all for understanding I hate opening this thread but I felt I needed to see who needed some support. |

Since somebody already posted a poem above, I guess it would be okay if I posted this one. I don't know the author but I have it cut out in a frame in my bedroom. I have rescued cats all my life (and have a dog) and have had to deal with them passing quite often. |

Dogs have been a part of my life and family since I was 4 years old Each one holds a piece of my heart and taught me valuable life lessons. Each one was unique and the memories are forever. Recently I had to put down a very special dog, Buffy. He was sooooo handsome - everyonne marveled. A mutt (Golden Retriver and Spaniel) he could sit on a grand estate and look at home When my mother was confined to a wheelchair he would pick up his toys out of her path. Adorable. After she died my son went to the cemetary and took Buffy. He dartefrom the car ahead of my son and ran sniffing the ground....he stopped upon her grave and rested his head! Amazing! He was 18 years old. |

I have rescued cats all my life (and have a dog) and have had to deal with them passing quite often. For those of you who think you can never get another - - this always tore my heart: STRAY CAT Oh, what unhappy twist of fate Has brought you homeless to my gate? The gate where once another stood To beg for shelter, warmth, and food For from that day I ceased to be The master of my destiny. While he, with purr and velvet paw Became within my house the law. He scratched the furniture and shed And claimed the middle of my bed. He ruled in arrogance and pride And broke my heart the day he died. So if you really think, oh Cat, I'd willingly relive all that Because you come forlorn and thin Well...don't just stand there...Come on in! That's a wonderful poem puddycat. I too have lost many animals and have cried over each and everyone. I've always wished I have enough land and money to have every shelter animal and just love them, but of course, that isn't possible. Even though we're all from different parts of the country, this thread brings us all together as animal lovers and if it helps someone, all the better. |
