Is anyone planning to go to the Staples memorial on 7/7/09 or watch it from home?

Are you attending some other MJ memorial? (I hear it will cost the City of LA around $2.5M).

Let's post our memorial experiences here...

I'm trying to go to the Staples Center memorial and hope to get tickets...will have to wait and see!

Do you guys think he should be buried at Neverland? In Cali, a person cannot be buried on private property. Should the legislators make an exception for Michael?

I think so...

Hi Ospreygirl.......i hope you get tickets so you can come back and tell us about it.....I've been to the Staple Center for the Grammies back in 2004. Its a huge place and the upper decks are so high and deep you can get dizzy. Its amazing inside.

I think Michael should be buried at a Moseleum on the property of Neverland....kinda like Elvis at Graceland.....but i doubt that will happen.

Please keep us informed if you go.

I am going to watch it from home. I sure do dread it because it will be painful. I would love to have won a ticket to be there. I could not have gone as I am on the other coast but it would have been a great keepsake. I absolutely think he should get to be buried at Neverland if it was his and his families wish. I mean really what would it hurt? I don't understand the objection. As far as the cost for security at the funeral it is hard to say. They are going to be using the same amount of security for this as they did when the Lakers where there for their celebration parade. The taxpayers had to pay $2 million for that event so I don't think this should be any different. Imo the death of the greatest entertainer ever is a bigger event than the Lakers parade and will bring a lot of revenue to the city.

I hope they dont have an open casket. For that matter i pray Michael's body isnt even there. I think its way too mormid and i dont want to see him dead. Its awefully painful enough.

I agree, and I really don't think that the body will really be there. I think the farewells for that will be made in private by the family. It will be so hard to see the kids there if they show them. Will be heartbreaking.

His Body?

Does anyone even know if they will have his body there? Nobody has said ANYTHING about even having the casket there - - that I have seen.

I think the Jackson family (sorry to say this) is really ticked off (except his mother) that they were left NOTHING in his will and will take it out on his fans and not let them see him, or maybe even not his casket? What do you all think?

Well...didn't get the email stating I could get tickets!

I'm so disgusted though that there are people posting their tickets on Ebay and selling them up to $10K!

Some people just have no sense of decency at all...

This is stupid as hell!

Well, just watched the CBS news at noon and when talking about the memorail service tomorrow, they NEVER mentioned that they were going to cover it tomorrow -- so who the hell knows?

Also - - they announced that there would be NO FUNERAL PROCESSION - - the family has the body and will bury it privately - -

SO WHAT THE HELL - -I liked MJ, but for crap sake, an all day long memorial with just millions of people morning and no body or family. HOW STUPID!!!

Thankfully...Ebay is immediately closing any open bids for the memorial tickets...

Mariah Carey, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, Smokie Robinson, Jennifer Hudson, Usher...some of the names so far who will be performing.

Uggghhh...stinks that I have to TiVo this because I will be at work. Maybe I will bring my laptop and watch it that way...

I think the family will probably be having MJ's funeral Tuesday morning to allow them some privacy to grieve...so sad!

That's the way it should be....I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing Michael in a coffin if I were attending the memorial, that would be quite macabre.
