Remembering our pets who passed

A upcoming s/l on Y&R has some of us rather upset. So, if anyone wants to talk about their beloved pets(any kind) who have passed this is the place. Bianca was a beautiful white Seppard mix who jumped in my husband's car in downtown San Antonio, much loved and we had her for about 10 years, she was about 12 1/2 years old when she passed. CLICQUOT1 was our beautiful white chow who died of a stroke two months after having puppies. It was horrible because she looked at me, cried out and died right in front of me, she was only three years old. She loved EVERYONE and wherever we went people gathered around her because of her personality. Tattinger was Cliquot's boyfriend dog and he died around 2 1/2 years ago but he was 10 1/2 years old, but we still feel all their losses. We now have other dog children.

I'm so glad you started this thread. Only a pet lover who's lost their precious friend can feel your pain.
I've lost many pets and have cried over each and every one. We've got an animal graveyard in the woods beside the house and I keep seasonal flowere on them.
My recent ones were Toby, a black mixed dog and Mouser. Toby was put down due to dementia, he was 12 and Mouser was hit by a car, my mistake for letting him run loose. Never again.
I do believe that we see our pets after we die. I've had signs with both Toby and Mouser that they were fine. I wonder if others feel this way.

I sometimes pity people who have never felt just cause to share the bond between two souls. One with hands. One with paws.
Author Unknown

My dogs are my kids and the pain is deep whenever one passes. I lost both of mine the same year in 1995. Looking back I don't how I survived it. I finally broke down and got 2 beautiful puppies that I adore, however the place in your heart for one pet can never be replaced by another.

You're right. You can get another pet and love him/her but there is still a void in your heart for the one you've lost.
I lost mine in 06, one in July and one in October. To me, the cat who was hit was harder to accept than the one we had put down. Unexpected I guess.
I'm tearing up now.

I got my date wrong. It was 2005 that I lost 2 in the same year. One we had to put to sleep because he was suffering from pancreaitas. My other one died in my arms from kidney disease.

I admire anyone who can hold their pet as they pass away. There is no way that I'd ever be strong enough to do that. Just couldn't do it.

When I was a little girl, my mom brought home an orange tabby kitten. I named him Henry and called him that over and over again until he knew it was his name. Afterward, he would only come when you called him Henry. You could call "here kitty kitty" until you were blue in the face, and he wouldn't budge. But, when you called him Henry, he would fly to you so fast it would make your head spin. Gosh, I loved that kitten!! Sadly, one day my mom had to go somewhere and she didn't know Henry was sleeping under her car and she ran over him. I rushed to him, held him, and told him how much I loved him. With a soft meow, he died him arms. It still hurts when I think about that very sad day.

On April 2nd,2009, I lost my beloved Reggie of almost 12 years. Reggie was a cocker spaniel and he was one month away from turning 12. Reggie's heart was enlarged and he also had a tumor on his heart as well. One minute he was fine, and the next minute he was struggling to breathe. When we rushed him to the vet's office, he died within the first hour. He never cried or yelped and never showed signs that he was suffering in any pain. His death was quick and peaceful for him. I had him since he was 3 months old and I still look at his picture everyday and kiss him and talk to him. He was a pure joy and the love of my life, and my best friend. He is now resting comfortably in doggie heaven and I visit his grave as often as I can.
This storyline that is coming up on Y&R SUCKS big time and I for one will not have anything to do watching the death of an animal. I don't care if it is a soap opera or not we have to endure this kind of garbage everyday in real life, so why should we have to watch this filth on our television set on a soap opera? I am truly disappointed in the writers decision on their part to think it is okay to display or show this crap. This is one episode that I will not watch under any circumstances, and shame on Y&R for thinking this is acceptable when it is not. This STINKS!!

Oh dear, this is hard. I'm 66 & have had a dog or cat or both for many years. They werent just pets to me; they were my beloved close companion/friend & lived/live in the house with me. I loved/love each one dearly. They are buried with foot markers in my side yard. Each time I buried one I thought I'd never get another pet but I did. 10:21a.m.edt NC

I in no way no how can look at or read the rainbow bridge. I know it is beautiful but a knife through my heart would hurt me less. It is so sad that it brings me to my knees each time I try to read it.
