Posing as a teenage boy, Lori Drew used a fictitious MySpace identity to say mean things to 13 year old Megan Meier, who was a neighbor and former friend of Drew's daughter. Megan committed suicide after the woman, pretending to be the boy, told her that he loved her, and then said she was not fit to live! They found that her only intent was to lure her into the site to find out what she was saying to Drew's daughter, and not to inflict "emotional distress"! |

I was stunned when the Judge essentially let her off the hook! This woman did the unthinkable - there should be some punishment for what she did! Anyone who would deliberately do this probably won't suffer much guilt for her actions. I wonder if the girl's parents could sue her in a civil action. She needs to pay for this. |

I hope to God there's some justice for this child, Eppy. It's just unconscionable that an adult could do something this devious and sick and get away with it. |

This makes me very angry. How did her attorney pull this off? She should have at least got a few months in jail to set and example. |

Yes, EPPY & ILuvNY what is wrong with adults when they do something so vicious to a CHILD. I just don't know what to say. The judge was a coward and afraid to set a precident for all VIOLATIONS of any SOCIAL NETWORKING. He's right there would have been a FLOOD of lawsuits. I wonder which SOCIAL NETWORKING network slipped him a campaign contribution? Anoonymously of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I guess it was contingent upon whether or not she violated the MySpace user agreement, which she never agreed to. I guess you can blame the prosecutors for this one, too! |

How could he look at the parents of this child and make such a decision??? |

First of all, how can this woman live with herself? Secondly, she was cyberbullying a 13 year old girl. Unreal!!! What goes around comes around. She might not have been punished thru the courts but she WILL be punished. Karma baby Karma. |

How does she not lose sleep at night knowing that she tormented a very sensitive and emotional teenage girl into killing herself? This is first degree murder, hands down!!! |

I feel sorry for her daughter. Can you imagine having a mother like her? And this girl has to grow up with the stigma of what her mother did. I haven't read any reaction from her, but I hope to God that she is showing remorse! |

I hope they bring a civil suit against her. hmmmm.. I didn't even think about a civil suit. That would be a good thing to do if nothing else just to make the womans life h@ll. I am sure that there is an attorney who would handle the case at no charge just to gain the publicity. I would do it if it where my daughter who was dead. |
