can you believe some people ACTUALLY believe obama is not a citizen?????? i was watching rachael maddow and she played a clip of rush limbaugh, he is on that bandwagon too, these people are buffoons, plain and simple |

I actually listen to him, not selected segments that Rachel finds interesting, & I am telling you of all his concerns regarding Obama, his birth place is not on the top of the list. |

Ahhhh ok I found the clip of her show. She was discussing the old guy who shot the guard at the Holocaust Museum this week. He is a white supremacist & despises Jews. So, he shot a black guard at the Holocaust Museum. He also believes Obama hasn't been honest about the circumstances of his birth - & since Rush has mentioned the birth certificate issue on his show before...it's a nice attempt to tie Rush to the racist Jew hater who shot the guard. |

I was hoping I didn't step over the line. So then, game back on for me! I will say this...there are so many rumors of this going around, why doesn't Obama just give his birth certificate? I have heard there is a record of his grandma saying she was there for his birth in Kenya, I have heard he went to Occidental? College on a scholarship only for foreign students (Fulbright?), he said he was Indonesian. I have never felt the need to look this stuff up for myself, b/c I truly feel that McCain was so bad a choice that "those that be" would not do anything about Obama's citizenship even if he was from another country. Is the pres candidates not required to show their birth certificate? If not, they should. Not b/c of this rumor, but b/c it is a stipulation to hold the Presidency that you be a USA citizen, born and raised. Personally, I think there are many other things we should be worried about with our Pres, and that would go even if Bush were in the seat. |

There is so much extra work involved...you have to use multiple sources, go with your own opinions and try to forget others'...but thanks! I had heard he did produce one, and the argument was that it was easy to fake one? Is that right? I don't remember the Repubs argument. I can see both sides here. (some facts thrown in) Obama has provided his birth certificate and courts have thrown out lawsuits which claimed he wasn’t a US citizen as frivolous. msgboard.snopes.com/politics/graphics/birth.jpg As for the statement about his grandmother, I’ve heard reports of that but they’re all from right-wing nutjob websites and given the fact he has a valid US birth certificate that would seem to be evidence enough that he’s a US citizen. Some people tried to do the same to McCain at the time since he was born in Panama however it never gained the sort of traction which is rampant within the right-wing conspiracy circle. For example if you check the political section of Snopes – a non partisan website – almost every single rumor slamming a politician or political group is targeted against the left and almost always is false. Obama is the president and citing web rumors from biased and non-reliable sources isn’t going to change that fact. Not going to go into the cigarette bill since I have no idea what that is. elaborate if you would like. As for the part about “telling other nations they are just as good as us” I’d have to see the direct quote of him saying this however since the US is a conglomerate of immigrants from every other nation on the planet such a statement would not be “out there” at all. In my opinion if you want to claim to be #1 you better back it up with facts. We’re not #1 in life expectancy, literacy, employment, etc. We are #1 in military spending, debt, prison population, etc. As for anyone's family being shipped off to war with Iran – chances are less under Obama than it would’ve been under “Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran” McCain. |

I am saying that Rush doesn't care b/c assuming Obama is not a natural born citizen (&therefore not eligible to serve as president) the matter won't see the light of day. Rush is not encouraging people to continue harping on the Obama citizenship issue. He spends his time explaining why Obama's policies, both foreign & domestic, are flawed. Rush only has 3 hours a day (less if count commercials) & Obama's birth certificate is just not high on his priority list. As far as Iran, Obama stated last week that Iran has a right to pursue nuclear power. Ahmedenajad, the current leader of Iran, has stated that he would like to wipe Israel off the map. Presumably, the best way to do that would be with a nuclear weapon. I am not all that interested in the fact that Israel is the 'home of the Jews...' I don't care about the religious aspect of the matter, but Israel is a functioning democracy in the Middle East, & for that reason, America needs to assure Israel her enemies won't be allowed to amass nuclear weapons. |

The grade (purity) of uranium needed for nuclear power is far less pure than that needed for a nuclear weapon. And who are we to tell another nation how they can and cannot provide electricity to their citizens? Israel has at least 400 nuclear weapons and every leader in the region knows a nuclear strike on Israel would be the end of Islamic civilization. Goodbye Damascus. Goodbye Tehran. Goodbye Cairo. Goodbye Mecca. |
