Veteran reproductive rights activist Dr. George Tiller was murdered today in Wichita, Kanas. Tiller was serving as an usher during morning church services when he was shot entering his local church. The gunman reported fired one shot at Tiller and threatened two other people who tried to stop him. Kansas Jackass blog is reporting that a post it note with the phone number of Operation Rescue was found inside the car of the Dr. Tiller's accused murderer.

As we get more news about Tiller's murder and the man currently arrested as the suspect, we no doubt will be discussing the long history of violence targeting abortion clinics and doctors and the inflammatory rhetoric regularly broadcast on talk radio and by some anti-abortion activists and how both have contributed to the escalation in violence over the years. For example, Operation Resuce founder Randall Terry made the following statement: "George Tiller was
a mass-murderer. We grieve for him that he did not have time to
properly prepare his soul to face God." Terry's statment does not admonish violence in any way.


wow this is unbelievable, going into church!!!!! abortion was not the only service he provided for his patients, had that happen where i live some years ago, dr. slepian, he was in his house, WITH HIS FAMILY, somehow, these nuts, and they all claim to be christians,think this this is ok??????

to continue, randall terry and his twin were also from this area(buffalo, ny) they were born again jews who are now ministers, my misguided SIL actually taught at their school, she was all set to attend the operation rescue protest when i said to her, look for me, i will be escorting the women into the clinic, her husband wouldn't let her go, she was 6 months pregnant,
one of the brothers was arrested for something at that time, when he was testifying, he said was not guilty of whatever it was, it came out immediately, his twin was on the stand, guess it's ok to lie too, when necessary

Personally, I am pro life. I think that the pro lifers that resort to murder make a mockery of the pro life movement. I remember some years back when I was a teen I had a doctor that was next door to a clinic and there were protesters @ the clinic and they automatically assumed I was going there for Family Choices Clinical Services, what I think really had them going was it was my dad that was with me. This was around the time that the abortion Dr. was shot in Pensacola and this clinic I was near was across town from that clinic.
There are many reasons I am pro life but one is that I have a dear friend that had an abortion and as a result she has some residual emotional problems.
So I am no fan of Tiller's but he didn't deserve to be murdered.
Even though I am pro life, I don't feel I have the right to tell other women what to do. I do have a problem w/ women using an abortion as birth control.... that's what a condom or the pill is far. I know another woman that had 3 in 5 years.

Church, like the mother's womb, is a place where an individual should always feel safe.

Murder is always sad & tragic. May the Lord have mercy on Dr. Tiller's soul.

The man who killed this doctor is nothing more than a hypocrit, or however it's spelled. If your pro-life, than why kill another human being. This man doesn't even know it's what a like for a woman to have to make a decision like this! I hope he rots in hell. Dr. Tiller has a family, he was a father and a husband...my prayers go out to his family. I don't care how someone feels about abortion, it's still no reason to kill someone...

Oh well! No great loss! IMO!!! I feel bad for his family but other than that,He murdered innocents every day! I could care less! I heard a past interview of him saying what he was doing was moral and ethical! What a joke!
