I am doing better today. I haven't cried today, which is something and only feeling depressed for a minute or two when I see something or think of something that reminds me of Oliver...one thing we used to do is when we had our dog and all three cats around us, we would say "Everybody's here" and we said that a lot...it seemed special that all our pets wanted to be around us all the time. Its hard to say now. It has happened a few times since Oliver has been gone and it's a lot harder to say now and mostly seems sad when it used to be such a happy saying. Giving out treats has been tough too...As soon as I reach for the bag, everyone came running..it's just one less to give out now.

My husband is dealing with more depression than I am today. I can tell when he is thinking about him...he looks sad..I look sad but today I decided to get on with it...I can still be sad and be productive. I have a softball game tonight and I detailed my car today, so I'm keeping busy.

Sunny.. You are correct about the title of the thread. It should have been called..."Support for Oliver's mom."

Kristy.. I left you a message this morning in the new Day's Chat thread. Take all the time that you nee to greive. All of us animal lovers undestand how animals are our children. When I had to put down my German Shepard, Lexy, in Dec 2004, my husband and I were a complete mess.

I know that I need to get away since my mom's death but I don't want to leave Dakota. She is my best friend and...dog-der. (daughter in doggie laungauage)

happy to hear you are a little better, i think it may be harder for a man, they really can't express themselves like women can, my husband had a hard time at work the first few days we lost our first cat, at least i could cry at work, he couldn't, so make sure you take good care of him

Today is harder than yesterday...maybe because I had to get back in my routine...my routine included Oliver, so yeah...kinda tough getting ready for work this morning. I cried a little bit but I didn't want to get my husband down before he had to leave for work.

Tomorrow is going to be a challenge...I have to take my dog into the vet for his 6 month check up. Just driving past there on Friday night made me tear up, so I don't expect to have a good day tomorrow.

Dakota, I hope I will not upset you when I say this, but I thought of your pain this weekend from losing your mother. I could not begin to explain my grief for Oliver, and he's my cat...I thought about you and your strength. I will get though this..it just will take time.

Oliver may have been just my cat, but he was so much more. He really was my child...he gave me a million reasons to smile, he greeted me at my bedroom door every morning when I opened it and he was the first in line for his morning treat. I miss him!

Oscar and Molly are my other cats...Oliver's brother and sister....they have been so sweet since Oliver left us. Buddy, our dog, is also being so sweet. We are surrounded by them in any room we go to. It helps but it also hurts because we know our Baby is missing.

thank you!!!!! I am so glad others out there understand

Also, I have tried to change my avitar to a picture of Oliver so you all can see his sweet face, but for some reason, it is not working. I am going to contact the Admin. to see what's up.

Thanks Lumi for coming by to let us know how your doing. Believe me many of us can understand how you feel right now. It takes time to heal. The pain never goes away but it does lessen alot over time.

Dakota...i even wrote to admin and asked if they could change the title, but they cant.....i figured as long as Kristy knew we were there for her, what the heck.

Thanks...he really was...he had this brown fur around his face that I just loved. My other cats don't have it..they are mostly black, white, and gray. Just another thing that made Oliver so special....
