Oliver is her beautiful cat who had to be put down yesterday because of kidney disease. He was the love of her life and needs everyones support.

I decided to make this thread for Kristy (LUMI) because i know how hard it is to put an animal that you love so much down. When it happened to me last December i came to the lounge and was so touched by the support and kindness from so many here in the lounge. Animal lovers stick together and when one of us needs encouraging words we can rely on eachother.

I am SO SORRY about Oliver Kristy-losing a beloved pet causes such pain - there are no words to take the pain away-but plenty of us know your pain-we have been where you are -- only time will help to ease it, in the meantime grab onto whatever comfort you can find for now-- pay no attention to what others think or say, or may feel about it-- right now you need whatever will bring you comfort--

The site that sunny posted is a great site-if not today maybe next week, but when you feel like talking there are good people there, going through what you are right now to share with-- You showed Oliver the ultimate act of love by loving him enough to help him begin his next journey- Just know that you will be reunited with him again

hi kristy, i know exactly what you are going thru, worst feeling in the world, we have had to do it so many times, usually because of kidney disease, i finally asked our vet why most of our kitties died from this, you know what he said?? "because your cats have led a long happy life with you", made me cry,(which i am doing right now), but it also gave me comfort, what you did, was the last loving thing for your baby, gommie gave you some great advice, do what gives you comfort RIGHT now, looking at pics, not looking at pics, talking about it or not talking about it, going to a shelter or not going, whatever gives you some peace, if you would like to talk to me directly, just ask sunny for my e mail, take care, nancy

Lumi my heart goes out to you!! I've been through the loss of a beloved pet, and I remember the pain of it! It doesn't seem like it now but time will ease the pain. WHen My dog died, I made a scrap book of all the things we'd done together and all the years that had gone by. For awhile it just made me cry every time I looked at it, but now when I look through it it makes me happy to remember him! Rememeber your cat every day because Im sure he is watching over you as I know Raggs is looking after me!!

Kristy, hugs to you, I pray that you and your husband get through this, I know how much Oliver meant to you both, you guys did the right thing though, he's not suffering any longer

I would love to share some about Oliver with you all. It's a little hard now, but I am sure I will be up to it soon. He really was a very sweet, smart, loving friend...one of the best parts of my day....he went too young, he was only 7 and a half...I feel that it's not fair, but I also feel he had the best life he could have had. He made a huge impact in our lives and I will always miss him.

Hi Lumi, I am very sorry to hear about Oliver. I am sorry for your loss. I just lost my pug two weeks ago to Diabetes and she was 6yr. I know how hard it is and I am still heartbroken. My prayers are with you! Jen.
