Seems Miss Cali has another partially nude photo turn up after she said there was only one.....talk is about her losing her crown.

It should be gone...Remember Oh what is her name...the first Black Miss America.....lost her crown for a pic like that....Whatever became of her????

Quote rei1: I have to applaud Miss California for standing up for her beliefs. She has been put through the media mill chewed up and spit out because she answered a question honestly. It may not be everyones views, but it was her's. She could have used this opportunity to advance her career and say what she may think is the popular thing to say and what she may belive is what the majority of people want her to say, but she had the guts to say what was in her heart.

She did not bash anyone elses beliefs or try to make anyone follow her thoughts, she simply answered a question honestly.

It really sucks in this day and age that people want you to lie and except things you don't agree with! ITA!! with Miss California 100%!

Quote Plot-Twister: Actually, all of the contestants for the past two pagents have been asked different questions than the typical "no more world hunger" type of thing. I don't think it was out of line at all considering the other types of questions that were asked....like the AIG bail out and the auto industry. The pagent is trying to remake itself into a more modern woman type of thing. Gone is the ton of hairspray and such...they want real women looking real.

Now, with all that said.....Yes, she was honest. And honestly when someone says, "I don't mean to offend" Well, they know they are about to offend. Miss America is supposed to represent America. She is supposed to be full of grace and concientous of all of it's citizens. There were other ways in which she could have handled that question and still held grace and dignity. She simply could have said that Miss America is not a position which makes laws, therefore, her personal beliefs were irrelevant. It isn't like she was going to make that her platform. And if she was, she would have been canned. Pagent winners are not allowed to take on controversial subjects like that. In fact, since she has become a public face of "protecting marriage" she should rescind her runner up position. Pagents are not political. If that is what she wants, then give back the runner up and do it. Bad enough she has taken all the thunder from the actual winner.

I like the winner, not the whiner.

Give me a break if she had lied and said oh it's wonderful you'd be applauding her! But because she doesn't agree and goes by what she was taught and raised with she's wrong! Being politcally correct by the way doesn't make it right! It just means we are lying and putting a happy face on something deep down most of us know is wrong!Just like the good people of California already did because their not afraid to be honest!! We'll I guess I'm wrong too and ya know what I dont care! This as well as many other issues not revolving around this one by the way(to me this is just a little piece of the pie) is why our society is crumbling!

Hey Bigtimesoaps....I decided not to quote both posts responding to mine cause that just clogs things up...but I did want to acknowledge your input.

Actually, I would not have applauded her if she lied and said "oh it is wonderful" about gay marriage....I accept that other people don't think as I do, but Miss America is supposed to be about the country as a whole and not alienate anyone. I would think that of all the jobs in the world this one would be the one where political correctness means the most. Especially when a known gay man asks the question...why alienate him? Why not say something like I suggested...Miss America doesn't have input on the laws in our country, so her opinion doesn't matter. That to me is the best answer, whatever way one looks at the situation because either answer is going to alienate someone.

As for Vanessa Williams....my point was that she totally made it big. She has made a name for herself. But if she lost the crown over nude photos, then so should Miss Cali.

And I agree, this is so miniscule a matter in the grand scheme of things, but sometimes ya just need a diversion y'know?

I remember when the Vanessa Williams scandal hit. We all know she probably wouldn't have been nearly as famous if it weren't for the publicity. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if Miss California has a much bigger future than the winner...by the way, who DID win????

Well actually it was the press and their ability to make sound bites that made her sound like a whinner. And it was a gay person who asked her the question. Pehaps he thought he was going to get another answer because he is openly gay. It took a lot of guts to answer that question hosnestly and she is entitled to her opinion regardless of whether it may offend somebody.. these days hardly anybody can say anything that does not in some way offend somebody else. I thind people are allowe to choose how they want to live their lives, and people have the right not to agree with how they choose to do that. She has a right to express her opinion. Why should she lie just get the crown. And if that was the reason she did loose the contest, well, freedom of speech is one of our primary rights in this country, and she should not have been dragged though the mud because she expressed herself honestly.

I also think it was a double standard.... it was not alright
for her to say that she thinks marriage should be between a man and a women... but it was alright for the guy who asked her the question to call her a stupid b.....because he did not like her answer. If nothing else he should have taken the high road, and responded in a more respectful way. She was not disrespecting him... she was simply answering a loaded question.

Perez Hilton didn't call her a stupid(w)itch until after she took on the role of advocating against same sex marriages. After the pictures came out of her nude and partially nude. It was not the initial answer which made him call her that. Just as everyone is saying that she had the right to answer the question as she did (I am not denying that right) he has the right to respond. Just please note that he did not call her that because of the answer, it was the behavior after.

Second, If a woman really wants the crown (and going through YEARS of prep, they want to win it, why throw it away with an answer that is not well thought out? Like I said before, there are tons of ways to answer that are not timebombs. Why should she answer politically sensitively? Well, she represents ALL of the US, not just people who agree with her. The jusdges represent a cross section of the American population. There are tons of gay men on the pagent circut as coaches, hair and makeup, etc...I wonder if they knew that she viewed them as beneath her when they were helping her win?

Oh, and about Vanessa Williams....yes, she became super famous...but remember....she actually WON! LOL

And I think it is sad that Miss Cali is upstaging the real winner and taking her thunder. Miss Cali should have her crown removed because of the pics. I don't care if she is right or not about it being payback. The fact is, she took the pics. She lied saying there was only one. And it is against the rules of the contest. If Vanessa Williams had her crown ripped off her head, what makes Miss Cali better than her?

Well if thats the case then last years winner(who Trump defended) should loose hers too! As for Miss Cali, her pics by the way IMO, the only reason her pics even came out was to try and cast a shadow on her so people won't listen to her! She isn't the first young girl to do something stupid(by that I mean the pics) and I am sure she won't be the last!! I for one applaud her for having the guts to stand up for what she believes in, Regardless of the outcome!

Well bishop whoever is an idiot!! We live in the 21st century stuff is changing. It is an issue of civil rights because there are rights with being married. Religion should have nothing to do with marrige. religon has no place in state and vice versa. I don't see what the big deal is they just want their family to be protected with the same rights that everyone else has. Perez Hilton was absolutly right to call her what he called her because its the truth not because of what she said but how she said it. I have a 5 yr old that can give a better answer to a question then that. Its not okay for two people who love each other to get married but I can parade around with no shirt on and take pictures of myself sound religious to me?
