Prayers are going up right now for your sister and for you and they will continue to go up each and every day. That would be great if she wouldn't have to wear the bag. She's still so young to have to go through this but it sounds as though things might be looking better than they did a couple of months ago. Stay strong, grangran. Please let us know how she is.

Quote nonnie7: It sure did warm up some and it feels great. Guess it's time to finish the last of the yard work for the winter although my mums are still in bloom and one of my Clematis isn't sure what to do so it's blooming away. Guess nobody told him that it was 26 degrees here the other night. Some daffodil bulbs showed up that I had forgotten I had ordered last spring but now I don't have the strength to get them into the ground. Years ago, I learned that if you mix 3 parts bulb food, one part epsom (sp?) salts and one part suger and put a couple tablespoons in the hole when you plant bulbs, they do so much better. I've used this, too, when planting tulip bulbs and I guess it's the epsom salts that helps to keep the underground critters from eating them. The man who gave me the formula told me that the epsom salts acts like sort of a hormone and jolts them into growing strong. The tulips always did spectacularly well the first year and then got eaten anyhow. Nobody eats daffodil bulbs. When the tulips first start to come up, I sprinkle blood meal around and that seems to scare the rabbits away for a good long while until some really smart rabbit shows up. Anybody else doing yard work?

Yes, out here in Calif. the leaves are dropping off my weeping birch tree and making a mess. And, my Bogonias are dying out for the winter, so need to cut them back and 'put them away'. Not to mention a huge windstorm blew through a few days ago and all the neighbors are cleaning up each other's messes one anothers' yards, lol. I live in an agricultural area and at the moment all the fields are planted in Broccoli and Califlower. You can imagine the 'fragrance' in the air. The pickers are busy picking the fields - wish they'd hurry up and get 'em off to the packing sheds down by the train track and get 'um loaded up and on their way to YOUR HOUSE!

gran, I'm praying this will finally fix your sister's problem - that is great and positive news that she will not need a colostomy remedy. She will recover and feel great - keep the faith!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!! WHen I was younger, I went all out for Halloween. I have a long drive & I would put up ghosts & skeletons that would hang down & the headlights of car would shine on them. THen when the little kids got to the house I had a recording of dogs barking & howling alternating with a cat's long meow. Also had a recording of a witch (it was me) talking to the little kids saying their names because I knew ahead of time who was coming. By the time they got inside the house they could hardly say Trick or Treat. Now those little children have grown children of their own... but I dont do Halloween anymore, just watch others. 12:43pm

Time goes so quickly. Do you realize that Christmas is next month? I was at WalMart today & was going to get some half price Halloween candy. Boy, they're fast because already the aisle was full of Christmas candy. 6:43pm est

Hey Kaycountrygal! I don't come here much anymore. When I do check in, there is seldom anyone here chatting away. So I mostly go to the GAMES threads and just post around.

Now to comment on your post ( which by the way some posters do not do. They ignore your comment and go directly to their comment). I like back and forth communication.

Christmas is nearer than we think. Yes Chritmas decorations will be up soon. I lost Christmas spirit when all the kids left home. Hope to get it back. My mother is calling, let me go for now. Take care

It is hard to believe another year has almost gone by. I can remember when they used to wait until after Thanksgiving to put out Christmas. But it seems to get earlier and earlier every year.

I think I will skip the celebration this year. Not that I will forget what it stands for. It has just gotten so commercial.

My two sons are grown and my one grandchild is almost eighteen. He will probally spend it with his Mon in Georgia. And with the way the economy is I am not going all out like I have in past years.

Okay time to quit this and think about something else. Sorry for going on so.

Hi grangran and lomille - - I have been guilty of not coming back on here, myself. It will pick up soon. Shorty is in Califoria, finishing up her long "get-together" with relatives.

Hope everyone is okay - - and we will get this thing started up again.

I too, have no real interest in the holidays this year because of family loss in the last 3 years, but try not to pull anyone else down with my feelings.

Hugs to all - - Puddy

:) Hi, everybody. About four weeks ago, I went to Lowe's to get a kit to fix my little wall clock. I think sometimes their workings just get worn out with age and it's not hard to replace it and is much cheaper than buying a new clock. Anyhow, I couldn't find a thing I was looking for because of all the Christmas stuff there. It was absolutely everywhere and in every nook and cranny. I finally got mad and asked a sales clerk where to find all the things I needed to get and which they always have and he told me that all the things I needed had been "put away" until after the first of the year and would be available at the end of January. End of January? It was only the first week of October. It's no wonder that some of us have lost interest - not in the reason for the season but for all the stress that it is now. Oh, boy - guess this is going to be another grouchy day on my part. Sorry.

I am with you, nonnie - - - Bah Humbug!

Actually, just yesterday I went over to the Dollar store where I get all my gardening stuff. I was looking for bird seed but especially a spigot for my garden hose because it broke - - I was told the SAME DAMN thing - - put away until SPRING! Oh well, I was in a crappy mood the rest of the day! I am going to have to order one online now, because my thumb gets tired using it as a spigot on my hose!

Have a cheerful day!
