Quote nonnie7: grangran - What a nice neighbor you have to trim your tree branches. Isn't that a relief when that's done? The squirrels here are getting aggressive - I guess because winter is near and they're in a hurry. Then again, they always look as though they're in a hurry. Wonder if your squirrel had it's nest in the tree and felt threatened. I guess the squirrels are trying to get enough food hid away for the winter. I love watching them scurry around everywhere. Hope today finds Laura feeling okay still sending up prayers . |

Hello to everyone, It has warmed back up today here in SC. I am glad the cold weather makes my bones hurt and my feet stay cold all the time. I have got to where I cannot stand extremely hot or cold. |

It sure did warm up some and it feels great. Guess it's time to finish the last of the yard work for the winter although my mums are still in bloom and one of my Clematis isn't sure what to do so it's blooming away. Guess nobody told him that it was 26 degrees here the other night. Some daffodil bulbs showed up that I had forgotten I had ordered last spring but now I don't have the strength to get them into the ground. Years ago, I learned that if you mix 3 parts bulb food, one part epsom (sp?) salts and one part suger and put a couple tablespoons in the hole when you plant bulbs, they do so much better. I've used this, too, when planting tulip bulbs and I guess it's the epsom salts that helps to keep the underground critters from eating them. The man who gave me the formula told me that the epsom salts acts like sort of a hormone and jolts them into growing strong. The tulips always did spectacularly well the first year and then got eaten anyhow. Nobody eats daffodil bulbs. When the tulips first start to come up, I sprinkle blood meal around and that seems to scare the rabbits away for a good long while until some really smart rabbit shows up. Anybody else doing yard work? |

Quote grangran: Hi everyone I just heard from my sister and wanted to give you an update. They will do surgery Nov. 16th so I will probally be down there all that week. They are hoping to do it in one operation, go in and cut away the part of the colon that is affected with the diverticulitis. That way they will connect it back together and she will not have to wear the bag and go back later to have more surgery to reconnected the colon. Please pray that all goes as planned and there will not be anything more serious when they do it. Thanks in advance for your prayers, her name is Frances and she is 66 years old. I am here for you grangran - - you know I will be praying. Haven't been back on here like I should be, but will keep up with you and everbody else. |

Thanks Puddy I am praying for you and everyone also. I pray God will give you strength, comfort, and peace of mind. I lost my oldest sister to cancer so I know your pain. I know it does not seem like it now but time does help. You never get over it , it just gets easier with time. I try to think of the good times we had together and that helps. |
