There is a fruitcake factory about 20 miles from me that makes fruitcakes (not your usual fruitcake, has lots of nuts in it), also makes jams, pickles, candies, all sorts of delicious foods. Have you ever heard of Southern Supreme Fruitcakes in Bear Creek, NC? You can google Southern Supreme. In case you're wondering, no, I have nothing to do with the company. It's just that the cakes are so very delicious. She started baking in her kitchen, became successful, moved to a new location, & now has her own business & sells & ships all over the world. Every fall some friends & I go there for the tour & free samples... looking forward to it.

I've never heard of that company, but will check it out. My mom used to bake a fruit cake that was not he 'block' that everyone always joke about, but was more the consistency of banana nut cake with re-hydrated fruit in it. (i do have a couple of friends, however, that like the 'block'.)

Girl you ain't said a thing, last year my GF sent me one i don't even celebrate christmas but the fruitcake was delish.....thanks for the tip on where to get them online

Back to fruitcakes. In the past I have always ordered mine from the Gethsemani Farms in Kentucky, operated and run by the Trappist Monks. They make a mean fruitcake (with a hint of Kentucky Bourbon) plus all kinds of cheeses and fudge. I will check the website you suggested as well.
