(Shirley is 70 – her mom Mary is 92). 3 weeks ago Shirley was taking Mary to Shoney’s for lunch and went in to make sure there was a table available before getting her mom out of the car and into her wheelchair. When Shirley came back out to get Mary, she tripped on a bump in the parking lot and knocked herself out. EMT’s had to be called. On her way to the hospital Shirley began to worry about her mom. Little did she know that 2 young women who were about to go in and have lunch made the decision to drive Shirley’s car behind the ambulance to the hospital and make sure that Mary was taken inside to wait to see what was going on. They locked the car and gave Mary the keys and left. Mary said she didn’t get the young women’s names, but is so proud that there are people out there willing to drop what they are doing to help someone in need. God sends his angels even in today's sometimes crazy world. We may sometimes wonder how we're going to get through some things, but at least we know when the chips are really down, our angels are watching us. Thanks so much for the beautiful story . I belive it was God looking out for both of them. It also renews your faith in people.

So sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you. I understand because my mother passed away the end of August and in June my mother-in-law also passed. I don't know your sister's name but I will say PUDDY'S sis and HE will know. |

I had no idea Puddy was going through this....nor did I know about cliguot's loss. God bless both of you and I will pray you get through this remembering the joy and not only the loss. It is very hard to do but one day you will remember them and realize you are smiling.... |

Do you all realize that Christmas is less than 3 months away??? Now that brings another thought to mind. As one who likes to eat (too much), I am thinking about FRUITCAKE. I know; I know; many people do not like fruitcake. Do you? |

puddy I am so sorry to hear about your sister,it brought tears to my eyes. There is not a lot of words that will help right now. But know you and your family are in my prayers for comfort and strength. |

There is a fruitcake factory about 20 miles from me that makes fruitcakes (not your usual fruitcake, has lots of nuts in it), also makes jams, pickles, candies, all sorts of delicious foods. Have you ever heard of Southern Supreme Fruitcakes in Bear Creek, NC? You can google Southern Supreme. In case you're wondering, no, I have nothing to do with the company. It's just that the cakes are so very delicious. She started baking in her kitchen, became successful, moved to a new location, & now has her own business & sells & ships all over the world. Every fall some friends & I go there for the tour & free samples... looking forward to it. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I know some of you have problems & pray that things will get better. Kay in NC is it far from charlotte? we have a good friend that lives there, he just stayed with us for a week, buffalo, ny, boy was he cold

cats meow, You asked how far Southern Supreme place is from Charlotte. It's probably two hours away. I'm sure your friend noticed a temperature difference between Charlotte and Buffalo. |
