Quote sandi314: The gay life style doesn't bother me. Not my way, but, TO EACH HIS(or her)OWN. I just have one question, wish a gay would answer. And I'm not trying to be smart or insulting. Why are some so flamboyant or talk in thar funny voice? I have always wanted to know.

Right before I hit the reply button I had a really snarky answer all set to go, but have decided against it.
I am gay, and I suppose I am just as guilty as sterotyping sometimes as anyone else. I work with a heterosexual man, who when I first met him thought he was gay because he spoke with a litheness to his voice that occasionaly has a high pitch, as well as a little swish to his walk.
But he is completly one hundred percent heterosexual. So who knows!

Thank you for responding. Like I thought I made clear, gay is ok. it's just not my way. I am female and have 2 good male gay friends. We have men watched together and we both found it interesting on our different viewpoints on what we saw. Sorry if I offended you, I didn't mean to.

You didn't offend me. My point was that we all engage in sterotypes, that sterotypes have a dollop of truth to them, but that any particular idiosyncrasies that we may have says nothing about the individuals that we all are.

I am also curious all the the gay men I run into seem to be more on the feminine side. And they like masculine gay men! But being a gay man and liking guys wouldn't they be more attracted to men that look like men and not feminine looking and acting guys? Also with lesbians. I never understood that im straight and I don't see how woman put up with these metrosexual guys that crap would drive me crazy in no way shape or form should my BF eye brows look better than mine LOL.

Quote cats meow: i don't think it is our business to dictate who to love

Yep, the heart loves who the heart loves. I have several gay friends, but the thing that is most important to me is not who they love but what kind of person they are and how they treat me and my family. When I meet a potential friend it doesn't matter what their religion, political party, race, gender, or who they love. And whenever I hear someone say "sexual preference" it makes me want to cringe because I'm straight but I've never chosen to be straight, I just was and it's the same with gay people you are attracted to who you are attracted you don't stop and think, well I think I'll be straight today but tommorrow I'll be gay. Pleeze!

To me this is a person has the right to choose gay or straight, beleive or not believe, and even to have kids or not. As long as they don't belittle those who disagree.

People don't choose to be gay or straight. In order for you to believe that you would have had to have chosen to be heterosexual over being homosexual. Sexuality is something that is intrinsic and not chosen.

I agree. I don't think people choose to be gay or straight, its just their personal makeup. However, at the end of the day, it really makes no difference to me.

Believe it or not as a gay person it makes no difference to me either; how I wound up gay. I like being gay. But the idea that it is somehow a choice or a behavior that can be changed is what those who do not see gay people as complete and full human beings like to use to try and deny us our rights.
I personally feel I was born gay only because when talking with my friends who are heterosexual about their sexual development, my own is very similar. But at the end of the day I really don't think it matters because I am very happy with being gay, and my life, and would not want to change anything about my sexuality.

You should be happy. Life's too short to be unhappy.

I don't have a problem with characters being gay. I object to any change in character out of the blue. If someone doesn't like it FF, you can't change the channel on soaps, the scenes change so fast.
